It's because Halloween is "edgier" and "cooler" and has no religious connotations. Nowadays, people like to pretend that Halloween is the cooler holiday, but there's just as much consumerism surrounding the holiday as Christmas ... But somehow Halloween gets a pass. It's weird!I will never understand the niggers who complain about Christmas decorations in November and yet celebrate Halloween in August.
For me, the official start of Spooky Season is the first day of Fall (though it started a week earlier this year for my family because we decided to decorate on Friday the 13th, haha). I love Summertime way too much to be getting all of the Fall stuff out in August, haha. I just can't get into the spirit when it's still 90 degrees outside. That said, I don't seethe in the stores when I see Halloween stuff on the shelves. So many people get SO stupidly angry when they see the Christmas stuff out in the stores. I don't get it.
The official start of the Holiday Season for me is a week or two before Thanksgiving, but I start planning for it literally on November 1st. I've gotten so much shit for "starting Christmas too early" over the years ... People need to mind their business and let people live. Can't tell you how many times I've had some bystander in the store tell me in the Christmas aisle that "IT'S TOO EARLY REEE!"
Bunch of Scrooges.
