I have past work experience involving the industry but know people who are more involved, working in casting and screenwriting for over 5-10 years. The black man and white woman couple trend all comes down to marketing playing a bigger part in the creative process. Movies have always been a business but now it's more calculated than ever before. They try to achieve a wide reach instead of specializing in concepts that have believable characters and unique storytelling.
It has nothing to do with some globohomo conspiracy to increase real life race mixing. It's about maximizing profits. Let me break it down further.
Even though blacks only make up 13% of the population, they are heavy consumers with bad credit. They are more likely to buy something if they're represented. A lot of the data will try to say this is because they're "underrepresented", but actually its because they're very racist and exclusive as a culture. There's some data out there that show blacks are more likely to believe race conspiracy theories. This is why they are very prejudiced against content and products that don't constantly kiss their ass.
You don't really see this with Latino populations, who are more likely to marry a white person than blacks are. That's why they're rarely represented despite there being more of them overall (18%-20%) - they don't participate in consumerism the same way. And middle class white women are also a huge percentage of the consumer population. They go out alone to buy things for household. This is why entire stores, even the men's products, are still marketing towards women. They are more likely to be liberal and involved in woke shit, so they love seeing ads that make them feel like they're special and good people.
Remember when you used to see skinny models in ads? You don't anymore because anorexic white women whined about it for years and blamed it for causing their disorder. Psychological research show that anorexia is linked to childhood abuse or a preexisting personality disorder, not the existence of skinny models. Middle class white women see media content as a reflection of their self esteem and morals rather than pure entertainment or enticement to buy something.
This is why it's always a white woman and a black man. They are the biggest consumers (and most narcissistic and emotive) and they're being targeted for profit.
