I’ve read that the redhead girl was very uncomfortable during the numerous takes. To his credit, the black boy could see the discomfort in the girl and it made him very uncomfortable too.

To be fair, I'm personally in favor of dating people of different races, I like variety.
The problem with this is that it feels inorganic and forced since it's happening everywhere and it's almost always a black person with a white person, to the point where even casual TV watchers are noticing.
