Horrible yet uncanceled - Shows that Just. Don't. Stop.

It's odd that they need to have race coded muppets when the show used to have a multicultural human cast. Do they even show the human cast much now? I haven't watched it in years. I tried but it was excruciating. The ones I saw in the 80s were so much better.

Elmo always made me uncomfortable. The sheer amount of bubbly joy wasn't infectious or endearing. It was always over the top, creepy, and grating in a way everyone seemed to realize and yet nobody openly acknowledged because it like, how exactly do I criticize the puppet on a kids' television broadcast without looking like I care too much about the puppet on a kids' television broadcast?

With Pat Sajak officially retiring from Wheel of Fortune, and Ryan Seacrest (do people even still care about this guy?) taking over the hosting role next season, that show has now become one that's been running for too long. And people think that Vanna White will retire after the next season, which would make it even more pointless to continue watching.

I just saw an advertisement for Criminal Minds Evolution which I guess is the streaming exclusive follow up to the original show and the only member of the main cast that does not have grey hair is Garcia.

If that's not a sign your show needs to end I don't know what is.

Wasn't one of Elmo's puppeteers outed as a pedophile a decade+ ago?

Pfft, you yanks have no idea about long drawn out tv shows. Talking about season 20s being a sing you need to quit? fucking weaklings.

Big Bang Theory - 279 episodes

NCIS - 457 episodes

Now bow down to the monolith.

Coronation Street - 11'120 episodes.

Its still fucking going, it will never end, its endless, like a black hole made of human shit. Its not as news show either, thats just cheating, its a shitty soap opera that used to be about life in a northern industrial town (cannot say that without hearing billy brag sing it, fucker), now its just some vague idea of drama with no end in sight.
That's nothing, Have you heard of General Hospital and its 15000+ fucking episodes? It's still on going somehow.

I only know who Ryan Seacrest is because of this video.

I also want to know how the PreCure franchise is still going, even after so many years, I think, since it's pretty much the Pokémon of Magical Girl franchises. IIRC, not even the other popular Magical Girl franchises like Sailor Moon and Madoka Magica had as many versions, series, and episodes as all of PreCure. At least with other anime/manga genres, there's a fair amount of competition, i.e. when the likes of Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen are (or were) going at it, while PreCure doesn't seem to have competitors that last just as long.

I'm sure they've all been mentioned before, but The Simpsons, Naruto/Boruto and Rick and Morty are well past their due dates.

I don't know if people have mentioned it, but Dragon Ball should've ended a long time ago too. Super was mostly horrible, the only decent stuff from the franchise has been the movies and games lately, but I'd argue those are just viewed in a more favorable light because most of the movies and games from the 90s were terrible, so them being decent gives them a huge leg up. With Toriyama's passing, they really should end the series, but I know it makes way too much money.

PreCure is aimed at much younger kids than Sailor Moon (which I would say was pre-teens) and Madoka Magica (older teens/adults given the content), and the obsession Japanese kids have with accessories and such is what is generating its longevity. Merch sales etc are huge, especially when it's the girls version of Power Rangers/Kamen Rider and similar for the boys. Trying to compete with a titan like that is impossible, unless you get very lucky, so most media just focuses on darker versions for older people, or other types of twists to the Magical Girl formula.

Technically most entries in the PreCure franchise are self-contained series, so I wouldn't count them as this.

Would the different Yu-Gi-Oh! anime seasons (i.e. GX, 5D's, ARC-V) be also self-contained series in the same manner as PreCure then?

Back to the topic, regarding the recent Total Drama revival, the contestants feeling less memorable, and Chris McLean's voice actor being changed due to accusations (which I don't remember if they were proven to be true or not, since his original VA Christian Potenza spoke out about the situation, and it may have been an overreaction), now put the series in the running too long category. And even before the revival, the previous later seasons (All-Stars and Pakhiteau) were also not received that well either, due to poor writing.

I'd be willing to ignore most of the main characters looking like past their due date, especially Joe Mantegna who's pushing 80 IRL, if the series was good, but it definitely is NOT even remotely decent. The retool features ONE case that drags on for the whole first season in the most retarded way, and the dialogue is stilted and with forced swearing.

It comes across like a buncha feds suddenly realized they can curse, so they just drop shit and fuck every other line, BUT NO SLURS! :story:

And apparently the second season is just more of the same shit? LMAO someone at Paramount is laundering money with that show, because no way it earned getting picked up for a second season.

Criminal Minds has been worthless since Gibson left (not to mention Shemar Moore even though he apparently comes back from time to time).

It was never explicitly stated which co worker Gibson beat up in a drunken rage but I like to think he pounded the guy who played Reid while he begged him to stop in his character's nerd voice.

Because that's the funniest option.

90 Day Fiance and its spinoff(s?). And Young Sheldon. It's not horrible. Not really, I just get fed up when I realise it's still going. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think it's time for Modern Family to make a comeback, on the condition there's less Luke.

@Valstrax I'm either pervert-minded, or it genuinely looks like he's getting head in the thumbnail.
