Horrible yet uncanceled - Shows that Just. Don't. Stop.

That's one thing that just really bugged me about the show. By now, Ash should be a seasoned veteran. And yet he hasn't really changed in the slightest as far as I can tell.

Is it really that bad of an idea to just lend the title of main character to someone else? Digimon did that and no one really complained as far as I can tell. Then again, Ash and Pikachu are a bit more iconic then Tai and Agumon I suppose.

Jersey Shore (which was finally axed, thank god), Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, American Dad, Keeping up with the Kardashians (who, by the way, are all utter trash), Anything related to highlander after the first movie, and much much more.

That's why I prefer the manga Pokemon Special. Not only do the characters change to match the games, they actually improve and kick major ass. Red from Pokemon Special could kick Ash's ass any day of the week. Honestly the anime would have been much better if they did something similar and moved onto a new cast in every region. And move the story along much faster (like the earliest episodes of the series).

Pokemon Special will be always better than the anime.

Cleveland Show got the axe a while ago.

2 1/2 men. That show premierd in ... 2003.

The Next Food Network Star. The contestants get worse every year. The guy who won last year didn't even want his own show at the end and just shot one special. Food Network always ends up dumping the winner after 1 or 2 years on the network with th exception of ... GUY.

Raytard Rays talk show.

Ugggh...I don't even like Guy anymore now that he's fucking everywhere. Last season drove me nuts because they obviously were keeping Danushka (or whatever her name was) on the show just for the sake of ratings. She was like a bad car crash that you can't help but to keep watching.
I don't want to watch that channel now that Paula Deen got axed.

Pokeymans.

There, I said it. Like, seriously, they've exhausted every possible plot structure and character archetype within the universe framework provided by the gaems.

I remember Moviebob said something like, "For everybody that complains about Pokemon, Ash Didn't Grow Up. You Did." It's not like the show was anything other than a glorified commercial for the gaems and TCG in the first place. It's a business model that's worked for Nintendo for the last, what, 15 years now?

Doesn't mean I can't rag on it, though. I really, really want to believe the Ash coma theory is correct so the show would have some hidden meaning beyond serial, low-budget commercials for vidya. (Don't get me wrong, the gaems are awesome.)
I'm sure everyone's heard the story, but Satoshi Tajiri (creator of Pokémon, slow-in-da-mind) wanted the series to end after season one. (with Ash becoming a great trainer and growing up, so a coming-of-age story) Network execs be like "SCREW DAT, WE BE MAKING MONEY". And thus Satoshi got pissed and the manga was born!
Also, the show is TRYING to turn itself around (with Team Rocket becoming more competent, old characters like Charizard and Brock coming back, references to past seasons, Team Rocket being funny again, Team Rocket using their old motto) but it's 10 years too late. Also, Ash will never be a redeemable character. Ever. He's never grown as a character since the Orange Islands, and it's very likely he never will. Weeeelll, he did get some in Hoenn when May was starting out and he was showing her the ropes, but that was a bit short lived. And to clarify things, the companion pecking order is Pre-dumbed down May>Pre-Togepi Misty>Dawn>>>>>>Iris. And Brock was best male companion, even if I do like Tracey.

I'm ecstatic that the Red and Green anime is coming out so I can have my glorious, semi-mature, game-accurate, world-expanding Pokemon anime that I've seen in my dreams. And if continues to Ruby/Sapphire and Ruby isn't fabulous, I cut someone.
And that's my rant on the Pokémon anime, thank you for listening to my tard rage.

Here's a spoiler:

At the start of the Black & White series, Ash's Pikachu (which should be level 80 or something) got defeated by a less than Level 10 Snivy.

Eh, I'm okay with the anime, I just watch it to pass the time.
The reason was suposedly that Pikachu got overloaded with electric energy by Zekrom, but that's bullshit because Pikachu has Iron Tail, a move with a power of 100 used by a seasoned veteran battler against a LEVEL 5 SNIVY (which somehow knew Leaf Tornado) and it didn't do jack diddly squat. (:_(
Oh, random thought. Who's the only interesting group of characters in Pokémon? The ones who have complicated backstories and grow sometimes? Team Rocket, the villains. You know you're doing something wrong when the villains are more likable than your heroes.
if you can't tell already, I'm really passionite about Pokémon and I want it to do well, but it just doesn't. I do have the games and the manga, but the anime is how I got into it and it holds a special place for me. And wow, I have no life. I'm worse than Chris when it comes to Pokémon

I know, I stopped watching after the Battle Frontier Saga when I grew up and discovered Pokespecial. Now well, it just turned into a 30 minute commercial.

As a matter of fact, as a kid, I was fuckin' PISSED when I learned that they weren't gonna replace Ash in Jotho, I really thought it would be Gold and Falkner and maybe Bugsy or Whitney would go on an adventure together or something. I remember rewriting the anime as a kid and replacing all the characters with Gold, Bugsy (who liked to trick people into thinking he was a girl I might add...), and Falkner... yeah... even as a kid I knew that it wasn't gonna be good, but I still just watched it because nothing was good on at the time it was on and it was one of the few cartoons that my mom didn't think was too violent.

I wonder when will Ash be replaced in the Pokemon anime?

Maybe never?

Now if you excuse me, I'll be back to my Digimon anime now.

I don't really keep up with too much TV anymore, but I'm glad that The Office ended when it did. I felt that it just wasn't as funny without the Michael (Steve Carrell's) character. It was still funny, but just not as good.

But I see a lot of hate here for Family Guy, and I wholeheartedly approve. I never saw the appeal of that show when it was new and I still can't. I can see why Chris loves it. :alog:

I think I'm the only family guy fan here, heh. I don't take the show seriously though, like Chris.

The last two seasons of Office was just pure nightmare material. I haven't even watched the finale again since it originally aired.

For me, I'm okay with Family Guy. At least for the first few seasons.
