I know that's why I wait. It's not worth the ticket price to put up with so many loud people. I don't get it. When I was younger you never saw things like this, even in dollar theaters it wasn't this bad.
Me and a buddy once went to one of those midnight screenings of The Room, except for some reason it was in a black neighborhood (NOT the target demographic for midnight screenings of The Room). There was literally one other guy in the entire theatre. Me and my buddy talked the entire way through, probably ruined that poor fool's night, but it was the funnest moviegoing experience I ever had.

I cannot recommend this movie enough if you're a fan of exploitation trash cinema. It's basically They Live but with more explosions, more gore, and more babes. There's a character who is supposed to be like a mix of Alex Jones and Art Bell who helps the main character fight the alien invaders and another character who is supposed to be Jeb Bush but is called "Governor Jeb Burke" who is on the alien payroll
and he fucking explodes

Really just stop what you're doing and watch this shit now

I mean talking during the room and laughing is par for the coarse. I'm talking about the family that talked all though one movie, or the tard and his handler that also talked through a movie (every few minutes I hear "WHAT'S THAT, WHY'D HE DO THAT, WOW!"), or the weirdo walking up and down the isle, and our theater isn't in a bad neighbor hood. Granted it's also the only theater for a small city and the tiny towns that surround it.

Funny, because my midnight screening of The Room was mostly whites, with some blacks and asians, and we in that screening were pretty much doing the same thing by riffing on the movie

most OH WHY HE DO THAT OH NO DONT GO IN THERE style crowd I saw a movie with was when I caught a matinee of Toby-Man, Bad Girl School was there on a field trip

it was kinda neat to see a bunch of random teen girls really get into Spidey

other things, sorta drifting in and out of the room as the wife has JeruZalem on. Not so hot, appears to be funded by Google Glass and the Israeli Tourism Bureau
monsters that aren't zombie eventually happen in Jerusalem. seems like that's about it

About to watch Shudder's Christmas themed horror It's a Wonderful Knife this weekend. I'm surprised nobody is talking about it, how was it?

Saw the Swedish movie The Conference (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26547864/) and it was pretty meh. Honestly a bit surprised I stuck with it, since the first half hour is utter shit, but it gets a lot better after that.

I guess it's supposed to be a comedy-slasher, but it didn't really do either that well. A group of Swedish low-level government bureaucrats go for a retreat to celebrate the opening of a strip mall that they have facilitated, and wind up getting killed off (along with the staff of the retreat) by the son of the farmer who anheroed when they kicked him off his farm to build the mall. I don't know why I spoilered that, since they don't try and hide it, and full on show who and why they are killing everyone on the very first kill. The group thinks it could be someone else, but there's never any doubt in the audience's mind.

The group are much more tedious and annoying than actually funny - I think they were going for kind of an Office or Parks and Rec vibe, but they missed the mark completely, either because they're Swedish, or they weren't actually going for that despite seeming that way. A couple of the workers are actually corrupt and malicious, rather than just incompetent, which kind of ankles your whole comedy attempt right from the start. I feel like they should've picked one or the other - make them all incompetent, so it's actually funny, or make them corrupt and malicious so it can be a good slasher (I mean their actions are causing the killer to kill, so it isn't just random). All of them are pretty unlikeable, some intentionally (the overbearing leader who puts the trip together and runs everything, the smug guy and his crony who are corrupt), and the rest just because they are bureaucrats, weak and annoying. There's the obvious final girl who you're bored of almost immediately when she's introduced.

The one actual funny part is kind of a meta-backfire, where they're going over an advert for their new town or whatever they're building, and it's very OTT trad-Swedish (or at least what the rest of the world considers Swedish) with all blondes with big tits and fit guys in it. The bureaucrats are like we can't put this out, it's only white people, is it an ad for Swedish Front, and the head bitch says something like "Yeah, we actually want people to want to come here." It's like they tried to virtue signal, but came off doing the opposite. In any case, that's the only attempt at pozzness, really, and it actually comes off as pretty based (especially since the people criticizing it are unlikeable faggots from the get-go).

The kills get progressively more gory as the movie goes on, starting with bloodless snap cuts, and ending with a full on (relative) bloodbath, but there's really only a couple interesting/funny ones (the main bitch getting hoisted up a flagpole gave me a sensible chuckle, and the smug guy at the end was at least gory (although I don't think it would've been fatal)).

There's some odd stuff in it too, like the killer gets the mask from the preview after his third kill, and it's completely unrelated to him. I couldn't figure out if it was a Friday the 13th part 3 homage or just a random thing. Also he starts out like hiding the bodies and covering for the killings like he's trying to get away with it, which I thought could've been interesting, but then he just gives up on that immediately.

It's pretty by the numbers, really, It's only 90 minutes, but it seems longer, mainly because the first 30-40 minutes are a bit of a drag with the Swedish attempts at comedy. I think I'm going to have to give it a 2.0. That seems a little low, considering the last 30 minutes are pretty good, and there's no obnoxious DEI shit in it...but also there were no tits in it, so I guess it's appropriate. I guess that's about right for an inoffensive, if uncreative, by-the-numbers slasher.

Scream 7 basically is fucked because the producers got too jewish when their goy stars didn't support our greatest ally

Saw the first Friday the 13th last week.
It was pretty good and even as I knew about the ending, I still felt shiver down my spine when I saw it.
The effects are pretty good and I found most of the actors to be likeable. King was the standout after Betsy Palmer and it is a shame she did not do any more movies after the second one, because of that fucking Stalker.
I enjoyed it for what it is.

If Blumhouse ever got the rights of the franchise, they would probably pull a Halloween by having a new sequel that takes place after the original so that her character is still alive.

Funny, I was about to post this but kept forgetting:

Official poster for the show. Coming next year. And it's going to be a prequel to the first film (supposedly). I give it 50/50 odds because, like I said, I'm a huge fan of Hannibal and that is my favorite horror show (surpassing even Tales From the Crypt for me) so I will give this a chance.

Best Friday the 13th movies for newbies:

Part 4: the Final Chapter. The goat. The ultimate. Alpha and Omega. One of the greatest 80's slashers ever made.
Part 6: Jason Lives. Fun entry that adds intentional comedy to it. Good gore. Fun characters and all that. Also the first film to actually have campers at the camp instead of counselors or counselors in training or 20 somethings on vacation.
Remake. This is my hot take: I fucking love the remake and it might be my 2nd favorite. Just like Final Chapter, all the elements are here and it's done very well.

My top 3 I think are an embodiment of everything about the series and what people love about it.

I knew there would be a trash take in there, but I expected it to be like, Jason Goes to Hell, not suggesting the fucking remake.

The bundle is gay af, but I'm getting a fucking copy of that DD boxset. Finally a non-shit version.

Actually, no. that gives them the perfect excuse to bring Neve Campbell back, and make it the final installment.

I liked 5 & 6, but there's only so many movies I could stand those two sisters who are so bland and similar looking half the time I confuse them for the other.

You're like that kid who picks a fight just before a school break because you're lonely. Jeeze.

I kind of like Jason Goes to Hell as a so-bad-it's-good guilty pleasure.

All the Scream sequels barring 4 suck dick.

I like Jason Goes to Hell because when you're watching them in order (especially with a newbie) there's always that "wait did we skip a movie or something? What the hell is going on?" take.

Took a lot of balls or cocaine to just jump in with like 3 movies worth of non-existent lore and expect everyone to just accept it.
