I used to scoff at Plan 9 being the “worst movie ever made” just because I was so desensitized by drive-in slop of the same era where superficially it’s all just as cheesy but rewatching it there are absolutely some outrageous details unprecedented in the realm of b-horror.
I made the mistake of checking out the Shudder sub-reddit to see how people were reacting to the Xbox app being updated from the complete and utter shit it has been for the past few years to a Netflix style app that works really well.
Apparently the biggest thing going on at the moment is that Billy Bob Buttfuck or whoever the fuck has his show on the platform cancelled so everyone is unsubscribing for some reason. I did some basic research and it's just him and a literal hardcore porn actress talking over a movie or something?
Fits into the same category as video-game streamers and i just don't understand why anyone bothers with this utter fucking nonsense. Just watch/play/listen to the thing yourself.
Did you also roll your eyes and sigh in depression at the ending? I did partly out of "well that was nothing" and another part "there's probably some implicit meaning that I need to look up later".
It had a good intro to the character's situation and then it just plopped her in front of a computer and microphone for the rest of the movie. I kept thinking of little ways the movie might be trying to go which got me interested then none of those panned out. I kept hoping it would be a thing where she gradually lost her sanity throughout the movie with little hints and indicators but it just seemed like BAM, IT WAS THIS WAY ALL ALONG!
I thought there might be something after the credits to no reward(it was super fast though, maybe 2 min). Unfortunately someone on the production team had some message at the end about "inheriting the sins of our forefathers" which I got to read on the way out making me double pissed.
Apparently there is an upcoming movie called Passenger that is getting a lot of buzz because of how "scary" the teaser, which was leaked, was. I only first heard about it from a reaction video (since the leaked trailer looks to have been removed) and the teaser is nothing more than jumpscares. Here is the official synopsis on IMDB.
A few weeks into their van life adventure, a young couple witnesses a horrific accident that leaves the driver dead. Soon they're being pursued by a demonic stalker who's impossible to outrun and follows them wherever they go.
A bunch of influencers wanting more views decide to film in an abandoned hotel infamous for everyone disappearing inside. It is every single found footage movie you have ever seen but done without the found footage angle. It's well made, it has some neat kills. But it's so generic you won't remember it next week. Pop corn flick teenagers see with their friends or you put on with the wife when you don't really care and just want something mildly spooky.
In the second act a character like Johnny Rotten appears. He starts to make the movie interesting but almost immediately after a generic tall white man monster is introduced. I was hoping Johnny Rotten was the villain but he's not.

Welcome to horror movies. They're all written by retarded uncool people. Very few of them are good beyond the kills and monsters. This one is as generic as they come. If someone wants that it's here. If they don't then no problem.
I don’t know why people shat on Scream 7 so hard. It’s perfectly fine popcorn flick. Has Scream 3 vibes in a good way. Not the best, but if you like the franchise I really liked it overall even if it’s just mostly dumb fun. It is normie trash, but there’s nothing wrong with that if it’s entertaining and you’re watching it with friends and shit
the thumbnail they used for local coverage
made me think it was George Washington and Abe Lincoln, like a riff on that turn-of-the-century PSA about the youths running in the woods like "OH NO! THEY'RE ALL AROUND US!" then Abe pops up and goes "FOUR SCORE AND TWENTY YEARS" then the girl screams and the narrator is all "American History doesn't have to be scary"
I don't think I'm going to end up finishing RE9. I don't dislike it, but it can only hold my attention for 45 mins or so at a time; the third time I have to go back to the safe room to drop stuff off, I'm ready to sign off for the night. I'm having a decent amount of lighting/texture glitches (nothing game-breaking), and twice my computer has restarted itself while the game syncs to Steam after I exit (idk what that's about). I'll probably have a playthrough run in the background while I work or clean.
