I saw this guy being discussed here a fair amount, but he somehow lacks a thread (that isn't a bad attempt at a lolcow OP currently confined to Spergatory). So I'm making him one.

Why? Well, I mean, where else am I supposed to discuss his recent "rebirth"?
I'm pretty sure it's all just a bit, but the dude's started doing "Relax with Max" streams with a vtuber cut-out every few day on his YouTube channel since last-weekish. Placing emphasis on keeping a calm head and "praying to Relaxus" (a secular god of relaxation he made up "so that atheists and agnostics can enjoy the benefits of prayer") and such while playing vidya.

Here's the first episode of that; it's in the Live tab of his channel so it isn't immediately obvious. Despite the thumbnail, this is 60% Powerwash Simulator, 20% shooting the shit, 20% actual Minecraft during which he does not find the Kingdom of Jericho and actually gives up rather quickly.
Be warned: his chat is relentlessly horny for some fucking reason and all you will see throughout the entire duration on the sidebar is any given variation of "MAX I WANT TO FUCK YOU LIKE REALLY REALLY BAD PLEASE SHOOT CUMMIES IN MY MOUTH OMG DADDY".

He built this up on his Twitter by tweeting a bunch of cryptic shit for a month and changing his avatar + banner.

I'm not really sure as to why since he'd already been streaming on Twitch for a while beforehand and a glorified clip compilation of that is his most recent video, but I guess it was enough of a change in persona that he felt it apt? I don't know, this whole thing is a bit confusing...

Aside from his streaming stuff, Max is more well-known for his uber-popular Five Nights at Freddy's animation, his .mov series on MLP, and a bunch of other animations in that style from years and years ago. Linking some down below just in case someone who doesn't know the guy stumbles onto this thread and remembers the animations but not the dude who made them.

He also got into reviewing things and media analysis a bit back with his Brain Dump series- here's a few of those as well-

-which soon turned into a sort of weird story arc about him and his gay cartoon ghost lover that recently concluded about a year ago.

Anyways, I've rambled on for a good while when I really didn't need to. Point is: hotdiggedydemon. He exists! He's streaming a lot more now. What are your thoughts on such developments?

Haven't really watched his stream stuff, but I've watched a good chunk of his animations. He's always struck me as a little too self-aware to be a true cow. He's just kinda spergy. I actually suspect he may be a closet Kiwi. I've had a hard time finding it again, but back when the Janke thing was going down, he made a small animated gif of Chris and Sonichu dancing and posted it to his Twitter.

I was hoping his "reborn" bit was leading up to a new Brain Dump and was disappointed to find it was a lead-up to streaming. As seems to be the case with all animators it always leads to streaming... but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in that he's been at it for like 20 years and while it's probably tongue-in-cheek every time he mentions his chosen path it always seems to come with some kind of regret. I kind of understand, it sucks to work so hard for such minimal returns with how YouTube works but hopefully this streaming thing is temporary. I think Max is one of the most talented animators, probably only second to Harry partridge in the old NG crew.

Max is also not a lolcow, he's completely self aware... however, he does have that Sonic autism which is a huge warning sign that he should see a internet doctor about. You always think it's no big deal, it's just one Sonic Nendroid then BAM - the next think you know you're raping your elderly mother.

Max is cool, he's autistic about his toons and that's fine, he's not pissing and shitting on Xitter when people make fun of him and anytime he makes a video that seems about a serious subject he just makes it a big joke. Only time I've seen him discuss something he seemed actually passionate about was the Apu voice drama. I'd love for him to take a crack at an actual cartoon show just because I admire his art style and humor but he seems content with his occasional Brain Dumps and streams and I actually enjoyed his Punch-Out vid so yeah, not really thread worthy I'd say.

You hardly need screencaps. He's still replying to this shit lol. Not archiving or directly posting a screenshot because frankly I never want to see this again and I don't think anybody here wants to see a "trans woman"'s flaccid cock bouncing up and down on a bed.

I was trying to find a way to fit that into the first post somehow but I couldn't because it just distracted from everything else. That and his Sonic attachment are the only two things that could even be considered CLOSE to red flags for cowdom- otherwise, Max is probably the closest to an anti-cow I've seen in a while. Genuinely chill dude with funny jokes who's somehow just kept improving since his glory days instead of stagnating.

Unfortunate that he seems to be entirely shifting over to streaming though. He mentioned in the first RWM episode that if the Fascism special was the conclusion to Brain Dump he'd be satisfied, and I can only hope that doesn't mean he's actually considering ditching it. Decent animation content is so incredibly sparse on YouTube nowadays (outside of the indie animation pilots solely catered to tumblr-dwelling spergs) that it'd be a real shame to watch him go...

He seems like good people. I don't think I've come away from any of his videos substantially disagreeing with him, which is rare for a youtuber.

I'd like to think it's possible. I don't know about if he's ever met Zach personally or not, but them both being classic era Newgrounds guys does lend some hope. Max is a fan of OneyPlays, and I know Chris is also a fan of his work but haven't ever heard Zach mention it. Really, I just hope that if Smiling Friends goes on long enough we get all the classic Newgrounds folks as cameos - just in season one we had Zach (duh), Sick Animations, Chris, Tom Fulp, David Firth, Rice Pirate and Harry Partridge.

I liked Wacky Game jokes 4 kidz, but the brony shit really made me tune out for a long time. Brain dump was okay, I guess. Kinda dull and I can't remember much about it other than the video on Apu that was always going to fall on deaf ears because despite the criticism being "I was bullied in school and now I hate apu" the Simpsons writers clearly cared deeply about the plight of some 7/11 employee.

Found max waayyy back in 2012. To me he's always been kinda spergy but he has the talent to back that up. I remember a stream of Cory ( spazkid ) and Zach saying Max is extremely talented even though he is bit weird. His later Brain Dump videos are kinda hit or miss. I caught a few of his streams and his chat is REALLY horny for the guy ( why ?) to the point he told them to knock it off.
Mickey the Dick is still my favorite character by him.

I think he is 100% taking the piss but he also is 100% autistic enough to commit to it and make anyone but himself believe he is for real.

I did listen to that stream and the previous one in the background while I was ironically animating my upcoming Christmas avatar while he streams to avoid animating. It's all very weird, the Femboy thing to that level was a bit but he did go into a serious thing about how he didn't used to be gay but now he's into femboys and made it sound personal with how he spoke of it... really, it's what living in California does to an mf. However, you can tell it's not fully sincere - it seems like he hasn't actually had sex with any men, has clearly stated he wouldn't be in a relationship with a man and still always refers to women in any context involving sex or relationships. So actually, for real this time, it's just what no pussy does to an mf. I do think he's serious, but I also think if it came down to it he probably couldn't actually go through with it as it's probably more of a fetish that looses it's appeal in reality when you realize that no matter how well the femboy passes ultimatley traps are still gay.

However, if he really is pulling off a total psyop which I think is unlikely based on his Twitter & Stream activity over the last year, then he is really selling it and bravo.
