How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

Doing good. Listening to some good music at the moment, and my dog and cat are asleep next to me.

fresh, home-cooked stuff is also a lot better for you than garbage fast food/processed gobbledygook. one of these days i wanna make my own pasta.
^This. Example, earlier this year I learned how to cook homemade hot wings, and they are honestly the best I've ever had. Learning to cook your own meals is a valuable and rewarding skill. It costs less in the long run, it's healthier and tastier, and you get that satisfaction from having made something with your own two hands.

Do you have a hot wings method? I actually honestly like them baked instead of fried, although an air-fryer would probably do them fine. My method is doing as little as possible to them, maybe brushing them a bit with butter and some vinegary hot sauce, then adding any final sauce at the end. Usually with celery and some sort of blue cheese dipping sauce. I once made this with blue Stilton and it was fantastic but it seemed almost blasphemous to use Stilton to make a dipping sauce. Roquefort is another nice one and I've done that once, too. Seriously, though, even Ken's bleu cheese salad dressing does fine.

My girlfriend loves my hotwings.

I use fresh, raw wings; Sweet Baby Ray's buffalo sauce; and hot sauce (typically Louisiana hot sauce).
First I mix the sauces...half and half in a large nonstick skillet. Then I cook the wings in it. Then I put the wings in a glass dish and bake them in the oven until they're crispy. Then I cook them in the sauce in the skillet for a few more minutes. Then I bake them in the oven again until crispy again. Then they're done.

If I want even more sauce, I just dip them again.

PS - Deleting this recipe soon, so screenshot it if you want to try it.
I did something better. I archived it.

Today I finally received my new Samsung Android phone after years of using an Apple one. It might not be that special since they’re still made in China, but it’s nice to not be on the Apple front for once.

I coat the wings in baking powder, some salt and pepper, and cook them in the oven. Leave them in for 20 minutes, take them out, flip them over, cook for another 20 minutes. After that, I take them out, coat them in the sauce, then stick them back in the oven for about 2 or 3 minutes to let the sauce cook into them.

So far this method has worked out pretty well.

Edit- forgot to mention to put a small amount of olive oil on the oven pan so the wings don't stick.

It's been over a year since my dad passed away

My parent's are still alive...but I'm always reminded that every day they draw ever closer to the end of the mortal veil. The sand running out of their hourglasses as it does for us one and all. I know people say if you don't think about it's almost like it can't happen. Even though it inevitably will. It just keeps hanging over me, poking at the back of mind like acupuncture needles.

The usual this and that, ups and downs. Have a couple of doctor appointments next week, then that should be all for a few months.

Went to the commissary today. Many thin and empty shelves, worst I can remember seeing in a very long time. Got almost everything, but a couple of times got the last or next to last of an item. We can get the things unavailable at the commissary downtown.

Before going to the commissary went to the Exchange. Visited garden shop in quest of tomato plants. None yet, even though they are available downtown. Like to shop at military facilities whenever possible, They compete only on price, service usually shit. Bought something else and pulled out some change. Cashier noticed my KF coin; always carry one. She asked about it, told her it was pure silver, got it from a web site I visit.

Gas is down about ten cents a gallon on base, about $5.49. To be honest, don't see any difference in the amount of traffic on the road, even with the higher prices.

Commissary? Exchange? Ik your user name is Joesph stallin and all but are you in the army or something? The only time I've heard people use commissary on the farms was when referring to the one Chris had in jail.

Turns out my former friend is a genuine sex pest. I feel like such a retard for hanging out with him. I've also just failed a pretty large project and I'll have to retake the entire course over summer. Not a great week.

Edit: didn't fail the class, we chilling. Former friend is still a sex weirdo.
