How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

I'm trying to figure out why my feet/calves hurt so much lately. One of my ankles have been bothering me for nearly 2 weeks now. My calves have been sore and stiff when waking up or getting up from sitting for a long time. That last part has happened to me on occasion but it feels worse atm.

I'm not even 30, so as much as I joke that I'm getting old I'm really not. I work a desk job and not as active as I should be so it's not muscle soreness from exercise. Maybe I should stretch more. I also cheap out on the shoes I buy (my current pair are from wallymart...) so that's probably catching up to me.

I dug out some old tennis shoes that have more support to wear to work until I can buy better ones, and got an ankle brace. And I have some Epsom salt laying around to soak my feet. If it still keeps up I guess I'll go to a doctor and see it's more serious than I think.

I'm nervous because I take the Series 7 exam today. It's a lot of stuff and a good deal of it I'm shaky on. If I fail, I have one more chance to take it before I get let go from my job. I hope I pass it, because I take the Series 63 in June and I just want to move on to that and not have to devote more time to material on the 7.
I failed. I emailed my supervisor and she said after I take the 63, I'll take the 7 again. I feel like shit and I hate myself for being a retarded failure.

I'm doing alright. Drinking and working a shitload which is unsustainable, but for now it's working. Waiting for warm summer weather as an excuse to cut back on both. It's been fucking cold here.

You've probably thought of this already, but it may be worth looking into insoles, like those cheapo Dr. Scholl's at Wally-World or other brands (I knew some podiatrist-affiliated vendors that cost a bit more than Dr. Scholl's but everyone swears by them). Granted, my experience has been with old workboots working in a warehouse full-time w/o insoles (that was hell even as a 24 year old -- thank god I splurged on some nice insoles). I've known people of all ages and job types (quite often white-collar desk jobs) who had serious 180 degree changes in their QoLs with insoles even with shitty shoes. There's also memory-foam soles vs gel vs traditional insoles, so it can get fairly complicated.

If it makes you feel better, I think it's a weak point (an Achilles Heel, har har) for a bunch of people -- how a slightly different feature of your body makes your feet/lower legs hurt more than others, no matter what your age is. Kind of like how some people can treat their bodies like shit and never get diabetes and vice versa (still a bit grumpy about that myself *grumble grumble*).

a customized glock 19
Lol of course Snailslime can't think of anything else to get but a glock:

What did you end up buying if you don’t mind me asking?
This wasn't directed at me but have you ever heard of the winchester 1894 model in 32 special? The ammo isn't that easy to find (although you can reload with 8mm mauser I'm told) but it's a real classy rifle. I like it a lot. The best guns are inherited.

I'm a simple man: revolvers don't jam, they don't leave casings to trip over, and if you need more than 5 or 6 shots to get the job done there's probably something wrong.

Either way, just make sure you're comfortable with it. There are so many women who get guns, but who you know wouldn't ever be able or willing to pull the trigger when the time comes.

what advantage do revolvers have over pistols? hopefully i never have to actually shoot anyone but when every psychopath has a gun, the non-psychopaths should too
