I know that is was really popular in the UK based on the commentary I listened to. Partially due to the casting I think.
 
My parents are starting to show signs of advanced aging and the realization that they won't always be around is eating away at me like nothing ever before. My siblings are also aware of this but one of them (incidentally the favourite child) selfishly insists on imposing themself on our parents at every opportunity. Meanwhile it's clear as day to the rest of us that this behaviour has been actively contributing to our parents' deteriorating condition for years now.

We are all planning to have a sit down to discuss this shortly, but I can't say that I'm not resentful at the time that has already been lost due to their callousness. Perhaps this makes me just as selfish as they are?

Found out yesterday my wife's days of hearing are numbered, and full deafness is on the horizon as opposed to half deafness which she's had to deal with for 30 years. No way to even halt it without removing a tumor on her brain which ya know, this being America, we can't afford.

So yea, I'm wearing a big happy hat. Uh huh.

Parents wanted my advice for an obvious Chinese rip-off site the other day. They are incompetent at this stuff and there was only bad reviews for it on Tripadvisor.
She wanted to be cheap and buy it on the internet instead of a IRL shop, a "dress" I suspect is not made anymore. As I barely got any results searching for it.

She wants this oversized T-shirt "dress", and I really don't understand it. But me pointing out that it isn't a dress, made both of my parents freak out and accuse me of saying she shouldn't buy it. Like, I didn't say it. But it's ugly as sin, but I never said you couldn't buy it. It's really not my problem.

She wants it because it's polyester and so light and easy in the heat, for when they are gonna visit me. I don't like polyester because of microplastics, but also because it is really suffocating. Especially in the heat. And we are going to go around the town here. So yep, she's going to be miserable.

Even a plain cotton one would be better

Took my (12 year old, large breed) dog to the vet this morning to address pain and swelling in his hind leg. ]X-ray indicated an enlarged spleen, with a mass over top of it.

If it is cancerous (odds are very good that it is and it's highly unlikely he'd survive the abdominal surgery to find out for sure), he might be lucky to get 4-6months. We have an ultrasound scheduled to look at it and find out how bad it is, and find out how long he's got left, because it seems unfair to put him through further treatment.

TL;DR: Stop the world, I wanna get off, and fuck everything.

Hopefully this works, but quoting myself to say: Dog's ultrasound shows *nothing* malignant. Still dunno how much longer we'll have him, but at least I don't have to book an appointment to put him to sleep yet.
