How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

Power outages are the worst. Piece of advice for others reading this, keep a big power bank charged up, so in case of outages, you can at least keep your cell phone going for a while.

I 100% advocate for generator installation in all residential properties. Power outages happen regardless of area due to weather here, and we’ve had a 7 day long one before.

Now with a standby generator the worst thing that happens is the overhead lights turn off for 15 seconds while it kicks on. Everything important is on a UPS.

They aren’t the cheapest thing you can do to your home but they are the most useful for stability imho.

PTSD fucking sucks. Continuous traumatic stress fucking sucks. Unpacking decades of trauma/abuse/neglect fucking sucks. Trying to unlearn maladaptive coping mechanisms and responses when you can't reasonably disengage from the environment that fostered them is fucking maddening.

I need to find a support group or something, I've completely given up on the idea of people "getting it" unless they've lived it, and even then my situation is so unique and retarded that I have my doubts.

I'm stuck in the gayest retarded limbo between tearing down the walls I put up to be able to fake my way through adult life, and actually really healing enough to integrate into society meaningfully without falling apart, and the in between is actual hell.
Unfortunately, I can relate. I think dealing with past traumas is something medicine or talking doesn't really resolve. It all has to come from within. You'll find a way, somehow, but it's an absolute ride there.

Nine years later and I'm still fucked. All autistic people should be sent to the island at the earliest opportunity for the good of both species. BPD bitches are DEATH INCARNATE.

And if you're poor, like me, you just get an interlock breaker, wired to a generator inlet and a portable generator.
Power goes out, turn off main, turn off all other breakers, plug in and start generator, turn on interlock breaker, turn on breakers you can power.

Probably only $1000 for the install, excluding generator, vs more for an automated transfer system. Perfectly fine where you don't lose power every time it rains and only the big storms.

I can't find at least one gen-z or 18-19 year old guy who's not lgbt or supports it.
That’s a twist I didn’t expect. Normally it’s the other way around. I haven’t met a girl who wasn’t “bi” or “gay” (this is not implying that they aren’t but I think it’s more code for fuck off) is the usual response I hear.

All women are bi and lesbians don't exist.

They used to call these LUGs, that is, Lesbian Until Graduation. Plenty of women especially on college campuses claim to be "bi" when they wouldn't ever dive on a muff.

I firmly believe it's just a trend and they will grow out of it, go "What. The. Fuck." And smack the rainbows out of their kids.

The Body Keeps The Score by van der Kolk is a highly rated book on this topic. I haven't read it myself but I've seen it recommended by someone whose judgement on the shortcomings of modern healthcare I have faith in.

To be fair it is Alberta Canada, your much closer to the colder parts of CA than you are the warmer parts of the US (even Washington gets real cold)

Massive headache today but it was a good day otherwise. Some good progress at the gym regardless.
Getting the start of a migraine and I can feel it. Thankfully I was able to keep up with my workout routine today, so I feel good aside the head troubles. Hopefully it isn't killing me too much tomorrow to go out and do it again.
Allergies and humid weather are a match made in hell. I love spring, but being outside when everything is blooming like this kills my body, and I just get headaches for the rest of the day, with over the counter meds doing jack diddly squat to relieve them.

At least the flowers are pretty, and I saw some funny bumblebees and a skink today, so that's nice.
