Leftism requires intellectual acuity for one to understand most of the theory, and due to the more complex undertones of socio- and economic-leftist work, leftist memes have to contain more information that the average right-wing meme. For example, there are thousands upon thousands of "Feminist getting triggered" compilations on the YouTube, with the same exact points and jokes. Why are there so many? You would be hard pressed to find a leftist meme that has been overused so. It's because the right memes by taking a statistic, like 14% of blacks commit 88% of rapes or whatever, and then pare it down into an easily repeatable mantra, 1488. There's nothing edgy about being against police brutality or rape or racism. The establishment has co-opted many of the beliefs of the Left to insulate themselves from criticism, resulting in a unholy hybrid between rightwing authority (police brutality, etc.) and left wing academia (trans rights, minority representation, etc.)

That's why every left wing meme feels hallow and misses the point, because there is absolutely no edge to saying "punch a nazi" or "_ says trans rights!" It all just ends up as Marge posting about respecting feelings and hating hate.
