Not having a dictionary doesn't prove that Ukrainian isn't a real language, it just as well proves that its speakers are illiterate. Irish and Scots Gaelic also have to do the same thing with their dictionaries (look up/invent words that are a replacement for English ones), and they are obviously real languages even if nobody speaks them.
The real reason that Ukrainian isn't a real language is because it is a dialect of Russian that never developed a self-standing literary tradition despite abortive efforts. Spelling words retardedly and using obscure dialectal terms that seem less Russian just reinforces that the language is built using Russian as a base. It's the same with the retarded government-sponsored attempts to make Scots a real language after everyone in Scotland adopted standardized written English for 300 years.
