I was watching a play-through of Dead Rising 2 and there's a "boss" enemy that's a raging man-child who's kidnapped a woman and is trying to force a marriage (my memory is hazy on details), and the mannerisms were fascinating. I looked up the character, and in the wiki it said that there was speculation the character was based off of someone called Christian Weston Chandler. Intrigued (and horrified) that such a ridiculous character could be based on a real person, I investigated - and found CWCKI, something that I was then obsessed with for days on end.

Do you guys think the character was actually based on Chris? If it was, that's pretty hilarious, and there are definitely enough clues to indicate that it really could be.

Here's the character if you guys aren't familiar: http://deadrising.wikia.com/wiki/Randall_Tugman

The in-game description is "A socially awkward virgin and internet sex addict who is using the outbreak as a chance to get "married" to any unfortunate women he can find."

I'm surprised Chris hasn't tard raged about this.

A few years ago, I was bored on YouTube. I stumbled onto CorruptedGamingShow's "Lets Read Sonichu" series. I looked up more about Sonichu, found the CWCki, blah blah blah.

I used to watch a youtube channel called Retro Replay. On one of the episodes he reviewed Bubsy and in the beginning made a joke about terrible sonic ripoffs and briefly flashed a picture of Sonichu. I had thought it was a joke at first, that the guy in the video made it all up for purely comedic reasons but something pushed me and I decided to investigate deeper... I spent the rest of my afternoon that night reading up on CWC, it was in 2014 so I was fairly behind on all the happenings and events in his life. I caught up fairly quickly and found myself checking on the cwcki during my breaks at work as well as watching some of his videos when I got home. What drew me in was the train wreck effect though, like at first I felt kind of bad that I was so interested in CWC, but I just couldn't look away.

Looking for an infection-free girl, aged 18 to 25, to be my sweetheart. No zombies and no blacks.

Also, no, I don't really think it was based on Chris. The horny social outcast who eventually snaps is a pretty old trope in fiction and lord knows there are millions of them out there in real life, Chris is just one of those, although his snapping point was the tomgirl shit. I've seen this type of NPC character inserted into a ton of sandbox and open world RPGs before, notably GTA and Saint's Row games, but Fallout 3 and New Vegas both had a token insane creep looking for love as well.

Anyway, my first exposure to Chris was in 2007 from posts on /b/ and /v/ on 4chan. I think he had been getting mildly trolled for a few days prior to that and then it started really blowing up on 4chan and SomethingAwful. I had fun with it for a while and then put it out of mind until I kept seeing references to him popping up just about everywhere online, people would be talking about him in MMOs I played at random in the general chats, I kept running into micspammers in CS:Source and TF2 in very early 2008 who were playing audio from CWC's videos and responses to trolls. He just kept getting more and more noticed because he was such an autist and couldn't just ignore people. Chris never learned the concept that people won't leave you alone if you keep giving them dramatic responses, because it is exactly what they want to see.

I used to watch videos of kids getting trolled. A Christian kid raging about being called homo comes to mind. I feel like cwc popped up in related video suggestions. At first I found him too dull to hold my attention. I noticed he had a lot of videos youtube suggested and I wondered why in godbear's name. I started watching just to hear how many videos he would start by saying "captain's log. *huff**hiccup* Star date..." And so, yeah.

I registered in this forum to follow Darksydephil antics.
Eventually, i got curious about the name. Why (it was) it's called CWCki?
I opened the Christian Weston Chandler section and a whole new world opened up to me.

I couldn't believe someone like this could exist on this Earth. I kept reading more and more, becoming more baffled at what i was reading.
"This must be fake. No one like this could exist"

In the end, i learned about all of Chris and Sonichu in about three days. And it changed me forever.

Nowadays i'm much less prone to be impressed by weird people.
