Old YouTube. I was too busy shitposting on 4chan torrent Vidya games to really pay attention. I disregard ecelebs and specific shenanigans unless they interest me. Massive raids on habbo and furry YouTube wars were my primary interests at the time.

I had heard conflicting reports about shadow of war and was looking for opinions on YouTube, I saw Phails rant about the endgame, I tend to leave YouTube on auto play when I’m working as I rarely have to talk to people and a lot of my job in essentially academic research, YouTube is the white noise i use to block out the rest of campus. Following Phails own video the next one to play was a dipshit Phil video followed by a snort Burnell, it was only after these I realised that i’d found Phail off putting but was unsure why, it was the constant snorts and nose clearing during his shadow of war rant. On my way home from work that day I listened to the down the rabbit hole and then discovered the SoK and almighty Tevin, I really enjoyed Tevin’s stuff and listened to his entire channel over the next 2 to 3 weeks, that led to me finding the farms and the rest is history.

TLR I found a legitimate Darks de Phil video about shadow of war, the algorithm then queued some detractor content and within in a day I realised what a fascinating specimen darks de Phil is, so I guess in my case the algorithm did fuck him, had it queued another of his videos I might never have ended up here.
