There are a few ways to go about it.

In A&N it's easy, be the first to reply and say the line.
In Q&A/Deep thoughts, be somewhat clever but retarded, a hard mix to get. Still be early.
Repost in the easy to track username thread
In lolcow, be informative, funny, or insightful.

There is a trick that works in every board or thread, but it's a double edge sword. Be really fucking retarded.

Highlights can also be given if you collect trashcans, autisms and the like. The easy part is to figure out how to piss off everybody. The hard part is to do so without getting banned.
