This site is a good example, as far as most internet users are concerned this whole place is antiquated garbage. If you want to experience "the good internet" or whatever of yesteryear, you have to get away from the centralization. Unfortunately self-hosting can be very risky nowadays depending on what you do, but using federated services (eg fediverse stuff) and relying on p2p or self-hosted among trusted friends is about as good as I think it can get for now.

I really hope some of the fediverse stuff takes off, even if normies get involved you can just make your anti-normie silo or whatever you want. eg if you use Matrix you can block users from other Matrix home servers.
Though it'd help if these services had less gay names, but one step at a time I guess

Easy: hold websites accountable for the things on their platforms, any platform that has more users than they can moderate (like YouTube, Twitter, Facebook) would no longer be able to survive and get rid of intellectual property law entirely especially the DMCA.
