How do we solve the discord problem [Discord hate thread] [Thinking]

Make better friends.
Discord is only as bad as the servers you join. Simply either avoid shit servers or go to the personal discord cow thread and let us in on the fun too. The platform functions well enough for casual small scale friend servers. Discord servers only go down when reported, so if you want to hate certain groups as long as you don't let outsiders in then you shouldn't have a problem. Its a lame platform owned by furries but so is everything else.

Ride it until the wheels fall off. If you are not some notorious hate criminal like null the pedo furries won't bother you. You could also look into an alternative platform https://alternativeto.net/software/discord-app/?license=opensource

These are generally more privacy oriented but less polished. Hard to find anything open source that has the same levels of polish as billion dollar software.

I truly don't understand people who keep hanging around Discord, making server after server as they keep getting banned, somehow not getting the message that they're clearly not welcome for whatever bullshit reason the trannies think up. At this point most people should just be running text-only IRC servers that they can host themselves. Centralized services are too pozzed to be used for anything that doesn't involve pedophilia.

Agree that host-it-yourself is the way, but if your mom can't run it, it's not a viable solution.

Yes I presume that the fringes of society cannot shame the mainstream into conforming to their liking.
 
Go and take them on some weird buggy as hell chat client someone made in their basement like pesterchum and assert your dominance over the Homestuck roleplayers infesting it's corpse. I could never get the thing working a decade back when a friend forced me to download it, but apperently it's still functional due to some "homestuck fan content" archivist group or some shit making new servers. Honestly if it wasn't like just a chat client that only does text peer to peer shit you could probably make a thread about the fuckers that apparently use it in current year if they're anything like current day Homestuck types.

I've attempted to use Discord on some of my newer computers when I get an invite from some friend I haven't seen in person in like eight years. Its fucking terrible. I have no idea how the hell you people can navigate its arcane interface with cave painting icons. On my regular machine it doesn't run at all in a browser and demands that I download an app to use it. Which I'm not going to fucking do.

The only difference between Skype and Discord is that Skype is actually easier to use despite also being an abominaiton of Minimalism and Material Design. When Microsoft buys Discord there will be no difference at all.

It was made by a guy on the old mspaforums and based on the fake chat client of the same name in homestuck IIRC. I twas initially like a goofy thing made for people that were fans to just kinda have another way to chat with people I guess but then like devolved into hell the more popular homestuck got. My friend that tried getting me to use it just ended up using Skype to chat with me instead till microsoft completely fucked skype up. I've lost touch with him to some degree since then.

Considering that discord has about ~300mil registered accounts, I can see how one would presume that it's mainstream. But it really depends on the environment. Matter of fact is that discord is not something very common or mainstream in all parts of the world. For example, nobody I know uses it but then again, I'm not one of the target demographics.
Anyway, my point stands. It costs you nothing to call and keep calling discord users faggots. It's simple, easy and everyone can do it. The alternative is to simply wait for a newer app to come and throw discord into the dustbin of irrelevancy. But in the end, you're switching one problem for another.
 
Eh, I don't really use Discord that often, it is just that it's really annoying if you have like 100 servers and you wanna remove them all.

its basically skype but for gaming... and tbh "gaming" is basically similar to "tactical"; a prefix affixed to a product for a set group of people to eat up like its sliced bread
