I think the bami pockets are actually the exception. As far as I know, they're always called "hap," "blok," or "shijf"

You are correct though. There are way too many things referred to as a "kroket."

(it's just a list of like every possible ingredient with the word kroket tacked on)

The most traditional kroket is a beef ragout with cloves, nutmeg, and bay leaf, rolled in egg and bread crumbs, then deep-fried. I don't have a recipe because we never actually made them ourselves at home lol

My Oma also made amazing shrimp ones. She always pronounced it as croquet-sha-s, which I can't help but do to this day.
While there are many types of Dutch croquettes, I figured OP meant butterbollen since they are they most common.

Bitterballen are a faff to make from scratch but worth the time - they freeze really well and are the best bar snack, as well as being loved by every child I’ve ever met. Beef or veal works equally well, though I used rose veal because I’m squeamish so don’t know if there’s a taste difference with ‘normal’ veal. Unless you mean cheese kroketten in which case I’m no help.

I think I used this recipe: https://www.thedutchtable.com/2010/10/bitterballen-dutch-deep-fried-gravy.html?m=1
