I swear the amount of times I clicked on a link for it to be privated or deleted has nearly made me bash my head against my desk. Why don't people archive their shit outside of this website
How do you promote the use of archive websites/services to normies?

You want to promote that for the general public? That's like promoting to not be lazy, good luck.
If you personally know someone that does this, then recommend them some archiving sites, random people on the Internet are a lost cause.
However you should know that archiving in several sites is obviously better, since Wayback Machine (one of the most known ones) decided to delete/private archives from Kiwifarms, which goes against the spirit and purpose of archival.
