EDIT: Chris receives SSDI through his father's work credits, not SSI, and therefore the income he receives doesn't lower his benefits.

I see Chris made over $10K last year from his sales listings. How does he make that kind of money and still qualify for SSI? I thought they reduced your benefits by $1 for every $2 you made, meaning he should have had his benefits reduced by ballpark $447 a month. Then there's Patreon which should further reduce it by $317. The SSI maximum pay is $771 a month so he shouldn't be getting hardly anything even if he's at that maximum.

I really doubt he declares any of it as additional income, or knows how/why to do that.
That's what I'm figuring... somehow. If that's the case I can't wait until the writers make a "The SSA notifies Chris of an overpayment he must pay back" saga.

That being said both PayPal and Patreon will report to the IRS that you've been paid $X that year if you've been paid over $600. That information is shared with the SSA by nature.

I thought CWC was grandfathered in on Bob's SSDI plan
In b4 Marvin says SSDi, not SSI
SSDI would make sense. That's not enough income to get kicked off. It might be enough for them to say he's able to work because of the activity he's engaging in though. Then again I say all this but it's 99% certain the SSA is aware of his income so they must have found it all good.

If you read the Unites States policy on SSI, you'll understand.

It's likely that Chris does not include the money he makes from selling his things online and from donations on his taxes so on paper he has little or no income. He is also could be classified as dependent on Barb's taxes and his earning $10k in one year would disqualify him from being a dependent.

I wonder what would happen if people were to contact the IRS regarding Chris' additional, probably undeclared income.

I just want Chris to know hard work. Fuck you Chris. I guarantee any job you get will never be as hard as the job my autistic ass has.

Try work in tourism you douche!

For SSI, the SSA will not count a certain part of your income up to a certain dollar amount before they do the $1 for every $2 thing. I think it's somewhere around $250 or something like that. For SSDI, it's a little bit different. They have what is called "Substantial Gainful Activity" that allows for a certain amount of income to be made, but there is a limit. Chris can make just a bit over $1,200/mo and still receive his payments and keep whatever medicare coverage they give him. Any more and they will garnish his payments, and of course, if he's ever in a situation where he's earning a lot more than that, he can lose his coverage. From the numbers I've seen thrown around about his yearly earnings, he's well within his safe zone.

inb4 the discussion of "Bob paid for this, made it so that Chris could benefit from it and that's why Chris keeps getting money" VS "I don't like him, fuck what he is legally entitled to" starts up again.

Probably fucking nothing, which is fine. Chris is small potatoes to the IRS, it would cost them more to investigate than taxes they could recoup.

Also, anyone who reports someone to the IRS or otherwise fucks with another mans money is a real piece of shit. Even if it's Chris. He may not be exactly 100% compliant with whatever income he's required to report, but it's his money to squander.

Dont you get a reward for reporting tax evasion? With the CWIKI up all you have to do is copy and paste the data in a form to the IRS. I would not do this.

Bob didn't deserve it.

Chris didn't deserve it.

Chris needs to stop being a leech and get a job sorting glass.
I don't know about Chris, but Bob earned his benefits. Man was a US Army vet, worked for 40 years as an engineer designing electrical subsystems and had a shit ton of patents under his name. He was the glue that kept the Chandler household together. With him gone, everything fell apart.
