Idk bro Zombies are just slow shambling corpses. Go on a jog occasionally and walk at a brisk pace you should be fine.

A really, really beefy first aid kit is your best start. An axe + crowbar to help you get into abandoned houses for looting. LOTS of unscented soap to try and hide your smell from zombies. A ghillie suit or some kind of urban camo. Night vision goggles. Heavy boots with steel toes. One of those hiking showers you can hang on a tree. A good backpack. Maybe some of that cut-proof clothing?

Just lock your doors and stock up on food. If the military doesn't have it cleaned up by the weekend they'll eventually decay and it won't be a slow process.

I have always thought that a halberd would be a good zombie weapon. The whole point is distance and chopping power.

Axes and swords just seem too close range for this business.

If it's fast zombies or intelligent zombies you're probably screwed. If it's slow zombies, what's going to kill you is other alive humans and it'll all be symbolic of how the director thinks that Man is the greatest threat to the society he himself created.

Or getting bitten on the arm/ankle. Protect anywhere a human mouth could get around, and @Slap47 has a good point about long-handled agricultural implements. A shovel with a sharpened blade would probably work well too.
