How often do you drink? - Semen excluded

2.5 years sober currently...was drunk from the moment I got up until the couple hours I passed out every day for a year before that though. Put myself through outpatient and smoked weed any time I felt the urge to drink in the beginning stages.
 
I’m way more into smoking/vaping (thc, I quit nicotine). I’ll probably have like 1-2 drinks on a holiday or special occasion like cider or beer. I don’t really enjoy the effects of alcohol and it’s overall horrific for your health, brain, body, organs, skin, so I stay away.

My family is pretty anti-alcohol anyways so I was barely around it growing up, and even in college when I turned 21 my binge drinking phase only lasted a couple months. Never really grew to appreciate the taste of rum, whiskey, vodka, etc.

Same in many ways. The smokes and vapes have always held way more sway over me/are more inherently enjoyable than booze.

I was the same for a long time. Beer isn't really my thing but I finally found one that I really like and will drink when knocking back whiskey would be out of place. The good news is that there's a lot of beer out there. You'll find one.
 
I have been on the regular for two years now. I try to limit the hard stuff to the weekends, and I'm mostly having a beer or wine with dinner. I don't drink a huge amount daily, but it's the consistency that is probably an issue. I should probably ease myself off of it and just drink soda water or something.

I find the problem with spirits is that it's easy to find yourself slowly upping the amount you poor into a glass over time if you don't measure it.

My poor grandad is having moments of delirium because he drinks around two or three bottles of whisky a week and he doesn't like water. You don't want to end up getting to that level of boozing.

Yeah, I'd stick with the beer and wine for sure. I've never had a single good experience with hard liquor but plenty of great ones with beer and wine.

They can be plenty strong enough for effects but it doesn't have as high an addiction potential as hard liquor...alcohol is like most other drugs in that regard, the more pure and concentrated the more risky. IIRC, delerium tremens and other forms of severe alcohol withdrawal were basically unknown in medical literature until distilled beverages became cheap and common in the 17th century.
 
I didn't care much for cannabis. Add in that it's highly illegal in my area, and I'd have to associate with either scuzballs or Mexicans, and delicious, nutritious beer seemed the better option.
 
Whenever I'm forced to in social situations. I had one beer a few weeks ago and before that it was honestly like two years since I had a drink.

I honestly just don't get it. It all tastes like shit to me, and I hate being drunk. I am also the poster child of the one beer queers. There's nothing fun about it.
 
I work at a liquor store, but I honestly don't drink too much imo. I do want to try lots of things, so I buy some of the single cans of beer to try or a bottle of something here and there. But I usually just drink a can of cider twice a week and a shot or two of liquor once a week. Maybe some wine a couple times a month. The stuff I buy kind of sits in my garage fridge and piles up. So I look like an alcoholic, but I'm not more than "average" in practice.

Maybe when I get my own place and can set up a tiny little "bar" and get my friends to help go through the stuff.
 
I stopped drinking in 2019 after I passed out alone on New Years with cheap flavored vodka.

Now I smoke weed and cigs to cope with my stress. Shits fucking expensive when it’s medical, but at least when I’m high I get artistic and more social and cigs keep me from gaining weight when I bing McDonald’s three nights in a row because I’m too depressed to cook.
 
Almost never, as the resident stoner, I don't think mixing booze would be a good idea considering I easily get through 2 grams of weed a day... more as of late since the world sucks. If I am offered I will drink, I like some lighter tasting beers but I prefer cider, certain fruity wines (lol girly drinks I guess). It helps that my mom/dad barely drink, they will have the of glass of wine for get togethers but that is all. There was a time (pre weed legalization) that I would be getting drunk every week.

I actually enjoy doing both every once in a while. Being cross faded is probably not the best thing but my tolerance is so high that I don’t get silly or goofy anymore on just weed alone. So I drink to make up for it. I only do this when socializing at parties and feel pressured to have a good time.
