How probably will a (unimportant) medium size suburban city be nuked. - Population around 75,000 - 500,000 for reference.

I live in one of these cities and I wonder the probably if nuclear war breaks out would it be nuked. We're putting important cities as an exception and they are extremely likely gonna be nuked.

Preppers have been discussing this for a long time, so it should be easy to research your city. You'll find projected nuclear target maps in a good percentage of survival books, and there's been plenty of recent discussion of what targets are most likely for NK and the Russian Federation.

That's in the US, of course.

Don't forget that it isn't just the bomb, but the fallout after, and the lack of supplies/communication/utilities if you get your power from far away.

One thing I've heard a lot is to find a town in a valley, or a bowl-like collection of mountains. Anywhere people notice that smog kind of collects in the "bowl" until there's a big wind, because a stagnant air system will be a plus when there's fallout from somewhere down the road drifting in the air currents above it. This is also noticeable when there are forest fires.

Depends on if it's near a military base.
This, and command establishments, population centers, ports, major infrastructure.

Unless there is a military base, or highly strategic asset worth expending a nuke on, a city like this would not be a target.
