I lost both my ruby iPod and my iPod touch gen 5. Should i go an hero?

I sincerely believe that someone worked hard to make the things you lost. Would it be fair for you to not work hard to replace them? I would if I wanted them back. Hopefully whoever stumbles across them at least makes an effort to look for who lost it. If not, well People here could probably relate.
