After scouring some random unrelated videos out of boredom, I came across this. Apparently, if you type in “.” into the YouTube search bar, you will get a string of nonsensical results that contain gore and all kinds of disturbing shit. This is because of how YouTube’s algorithm works. It is known to content ID, copyright strike and automatically flag people’s videos, the way it does this is by analyzing your tags, thumbnails and title. So by typing, say, “…ø·ø ̈ùšù„ø© … ø£øoù†ùšø© ù„ù„ø£ø·ù ø§ù„ … ù„ùšø ̈ùšø§” you will in turn be bypassing YouTube’s auto check system, leaving you with these clickbait thumbnails that are designed to rack up tons of views. So this way, if you find something in violation of YouTube’s policies, you would have to manually report it. The same applies to typing emojis into the search bar, apparently.
