In Goldilocks' time they would have cooked their porridge in a large pot over the fire. So Mama Bear would have portioned the same porridge from the same pot. So why were the three bowls of porridge three different temperatures?

"Maybe the bowls were three different sizes so they cooled down at different rates" you might say. But Papa Bear's bowl was the biggest and was too hot and Mama Bear's was medium sized and was too cold and Baby Bear's was the smallest and was just right. Wouldn't Baby Bear's porridge be colder than Mama Bear's?

Please help.

Easy, Papa bear's bowl was too hot because it was the biggest one, then Mama bear's was too cold because it was smaller, however, it was put slightly far away, cooling down.

Baby bear's bowl was the smallest, but it was closer to Papa bear's bowl, keeping its temperature, warm but not very hot, thanks to the mild heat transfer from Papa Bear's.
