Currently the apex species until the next era happens and the more superior species take over.
 
Google any disease/disorder and under each is one or many of us. Take your pick on what NOT who you are. Just look in the mirror and the pic of your disease you'll find yourself(there)eventually.
 
Beautiful souls, made in the image of God; but perpetually destroying ourselves and one another, because we keep forgetting we're not actually God.

We're robots designed to find the best way to play the game, and we beat it, now we don't know what the fuck to do with ourselves. Also, we still have our original programming that makes us do stupid shit. But we're the absolute best form of life yet, and we must destroy the alien menace at the first opportunity.
 
Humans went from eating bananas to Trigonometry pretty quickly. They're a gullible lot, but most of their mistakes are from a misplaced sense of righteousness rather than pure evil.
 
I kind of find it funny, I kind of find it sad.
 
Humanity was a mistake. Humans are a disease and deserve to go extinct.
 
The more things change the more things stay the same.
The more we get new technology, faster communication, faster travel, cheaper food, longer life expediencies, new frontiers, and a better understanding of the world around us, the more we fall prey to witch hunts, tribalism, hubris, lies stated as fact, facts labeled as lies, sociopaths taking advantage of systems people trust for their own benefit, petty drama trumped up to more than it is, and so on.
 
A person is good. People are downright god-awful and insufferable.

Especially in large groups.
