HuffPo Writer Suggest Stripping White Men of Voting Rights

https://archive.fo/LN5fV

Argument is basically "If white men couldn't vote, then recent referendums and elections would have outcomes that I personally would like more. Therefore, they should be disenfranchised."

Oh, and she is an MA student in Philosophy.

EDIT - Turns out it was a troll. But HuffPo initially defended publishing this and called it "basic feminist analysis" in response to criticism before investigating and discovering and admitting that the author was a troll.

She's from South Africa. And couldn't find this on the US edition of HuffPost.

Also her bio on the site:
Shelley Garland is an activist and a feminist and is currently completing an MA degree in philosophy. When she’s not gagging at South Africa’s unique brand of rainbow politics, she’s working on ways to smash the patriarchy.

If she consulted any history undergrad, she would have been informed of the likely reaction whitey would have to such policies. Or hell, just a quick peek at the demographics of the US military might have given her a hint, and that's one of the most diverse in the western world.

The Handmaid's Tale would be looked upon as a depiction of the gold old days.

It's a moot point anyways since the constitution explicitly forbids everything she's advocating.

So are we only going to let white men vote if their grandfathers could, or give them tests before voting, or what..? Maybe we should discriminate against anyone with ANY white blood: we can call it "the one drop rule." This sort of thing is SUCH a good idea and has never led to any injustice or problems before, right guys..? -__-,

Are we sure this wasn't written by a white man?

The stupidity of people so dumb they can't understand that getting rid of prohibitions on racial discrimination would immediately disproportionately affect THEM never cease to amaze me. Because it's people like this dipshit who are on the chopping block first if discrimination gets legalized again.

It's always a troon, isn't it?

Totally sane, normal, people, for real.

It'd be funny if she did get her way only for only for the minorities and women who she expected to worship her chosen political party/parties get so outraged at the abuse of civil rights (They can be next after all) and swing so far in the opposite direction that she has one of the biggest "SHUT IT DOWN" chimpouts.

My question is; do Italians count as white, for the purpose of this proposal?

United States, yeah. Most of Western Europe too, though I don't have the knowledge to say anything with certainty. South Africa and the Eastern European genocide proving grounds - who the the hell knows?

I just wanted to make the Handmaid's Tale joke.

HuffPo has finally gone off the fucking rails, I swear to God. They've been flirting with it forever, I guess here we are.
We have someone talking about the superior power of her reasoning, despite that same reasoning leading her to pay for a Masters in fucking philosophy.
Yeah, disenfranchise an entire group of people. People love peacefully giving up power, I'm sure it'll be just fi-
