HUGE Capcom Leak Due To Ransomware - You can thank the group called "Ragnar Locker"

I just find it hilarious that they are ACTUALLY still pulling the "Super/Ultra" shit with Street Fighter.
The Super/Ultra thing is just a meme at this point to declare different periods of a game lifespan. Your vanilla copy of SFV is still relevant despite there being a 'Championship Edition'. It's the same as every other multiplayer game now with their season system

Funny, I don't recall people waiting online for a chance to play with other people in SF2: The World Warrior or SSF2: The New Challengers. Only Brazilians/Koreans play Championship Edition while everyone else either plays Hyper Fighting or Super Turbo. Likewise you don't see too many people pining for the chance to play SF3: New Generation or 2nd Impact. It's always 200-300+ users on FightCade playing Third Strike.

The point of the "revisions" means that they tweaked the system to add new stuff and/or improvements/changes to the old stuff to make the games a better experience than they were the first time around. If they don't want complaints from people that actually play the games, then they should actually hire more beta testers or get the community involved like they did with the online test of SFV. Jokes and Memes aside, the fact that they are STILL trying to nickle and dime their audience while having this kind of foresight is both shocking and unsurprising. Shocking because you'd think they would learn from their past mistakes, and unsurprising because this is Capcom we are talking about, but that alone doesn't excuse their behavior.

Bottom Line, there's a reason why Street Fighter always has that stigma of people going "Psh... I'll just wait till the GOOD version comes out"

On another note, DMC2 Source Codes:
DEVIL_BACKUP_2 is code files, other isos should contain assets.
"Resident Evil Hank"

Isn't "Hank" a meme name? I'm taking that list with a grain of salt

Sounds like either a Megaman themed puzzle game or battle royale.

I'd guess a mobile game, they've made a number of Megaman-themed mobile games now

I'm surprised they don't have a new Mega Man game in the pipeline once every few years. Surely that can't be hard to develop at all, especially with how every Mega Man game for the foreseeable future could just be a reskin of 11.

This leak has been worth it.

Could be a misspelling of "HUNK," the codename of an Umbrella paramilitary operative.

Part of that was probably that a AAA budget was a fraction of what it is today and with that it didn't take 500 people across three continents to make a game. A game being a flop or flop:ish wasn't a death blow like it could be today. Sony went hard on western developed first party exclusives that no one remembers, large production values and great presentation, like Ghosthunter, Primal, Dropship, I would say The Getaway but people remember being disappointed by that one and I think it actually sold decently so it got a sequel, Siren is also remembered but that was a real gamble that didn't pay off. There's more that I can't remember right now.
I remember Ghosthunter and Primal.

I'd love to see a reboot of Ghosthunter.

I also think Primal is the grandaddy of later Sony games like Last of Us and God of War 2018 where you have two different characters alongside each other all of the time so they can talk with one another and both can do different things, it's fascinating to think that mechanic goes all the way back to 2003.

So I guess we’ll never see a re-release of Haunting Ground then? Not exactly where that kind of game stands with SJW’s, as while it does have a “strong female protagonist”, she’s also mostly defenseless and prone to being frozen in fear and having panic attacks. Like anyone would be in the situation she was in.

It also has a childish mentally challenged man, a guy who wants to rape you, and jiggle physics. All sorts of potential “triggers”.
Haunting Ground is one of my all time favorite games, I'd love to see Capcom do something new with it, but one thing I didn't learn until not too long ago is that the writer of the game actually died shortly before the game's release, he also wrote many other Capcom games like Resident Evil Code Veronica, when I learned that suddenly the change in direction Capcom did after 2005 made a lot more sense.

The RE4 remake isn't coming until 2023? Dang.

And what the heck is Resident Evil Hank? Do they mean Hunk?

Now the super hero boom is over, and Hollywood has gone woke, meanwhile Demon Slayer has been breaking records left and right. (Off topic, but censors are already priming themselves to inject politics into the translation.)
I hate the way SJW weebs are running interference for that shit by saying "it's localization, not translation!"

Oh, that's sad. It's honestly amazing how something that was essentially a patchwork of abandoned concepts ended up turning into something absolutely beautiful in it's own twisted way. Kinda fitting considering the subject matter.

I want to disbelieve so bad. You're probably right though.

I'm curious why the DMC and Tron leaks seem to be disc images. If Capcom just lazily imaged all their old backup disks onto a central server (as opposed to these backups being shuffled elsewhere for porting) and the leaker got into it we could see some really interesting stuff leaking in the next few months.

I know, it really bums me out to think the writer of the game had already passed away before I even played it and it then took me over a decade to learn that fact.

Here's the thing though... idk what kind of training their staff gets when it comes to Internet Security, but it has to be (or at least it SHOULD be) tougher and stricter than the ones us plebs get for our regular office jobs, and that's including the kind of training where you have to take a virtual test and if you fail you get fired.

Ransomware is one of the top threats that gets discussed the most. In my current and previous IT jobs, we have secure emailing systems to where certain portions of your email are censored/deleted if they look like personal info (like social security number or something) and if you're going to send an attachment, ESPECIALLY outside the office, you make sure its encrypted with a password. However, even for the dummies that circumvent this rule we still tell everyone to NEVER open emails from randos (or even randos impersonating other people/companies) that have attachments in them. If that were to ever happen, the first thing everyone in IT knows what to do is immediately unplug the the ethernet cable from the infected computer and then the entire server so nothing spreads.

The fact that this group got so much shit means that someone somewhere within the company fucked up BIG TIME, and everyone is going to get the blame for it, even their IT department.

It also had best boy Hewie.

Not really going anywhere with this, just thought I'd mention best vidiya doggo.

| POWER STONE REMAKE
| FINAL FIGHT REMAKE

I want to believe so bad.

Do we have any word on what 'rockman match' could be?
Plot twist: It's a remake of Final Fight Streetwise and comes with your very own copy of Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance. Only they plot tweek some things to make the previous games non-cannon. Oh, and Haggar is a bumbling fool that sucked at wrestling and Cody is now a FtM and black.

Literally no such thing, they don't exist.

I'm not sure what to think of this. The article I read made sure to point out that certain states will legally require companies to attend woke diversity seminars/pay for a diversity consultation or they strongly incentivize it via tax breaks.

Given that it's 2020 and that nothing good ever seems to happen this year, there's a chance Capcom will end up getting woke and going broke. But the article make it seem like Capcom wasn't specifically aiming to go woke but rather they attended some kind of class or seminar on diversity or had some Grievance Studies give them a woke lecture as part of some business procedure.

It's Capcom and 2020, so there's a chance they're going woke in earnest but there's also the chance that they just went through the motions and paid the bare minimum amount of lip service to the Woke Left so they can get on with their business ventures.

@Sinner's Sandwich brings up a very good point about certain leaks could very well be either faked or exaggerated for the sake of attention since this is part of some extortion attempt.

My guess is that the odds are 50/50 either way on this one

Given how EVO crashed and burned and how Capcom supposedly released figurines and official artwork of Cammy and R. Mika in their original designs as recently as this year, I'm not entirely sure to write off Capcom just yet despite their knack for snatching stupidity from the jaws of brilliance.

I'm just holding out to see how Resident Evil 8 turns out before I write them off.

Same goes for Rockstar and the fabled GTA VI
If i am correct Isn't the villain of re8 a big titty gender bent salazar except she actually has a height which is enough to piss off the woketards

They revealed the villain? All I've seen are some pictures of an eastern european village and some pictures of Chris Redfield as a werewolf for some reason.

The sad thing about this leak is it seems like Capcom is indeed not doing anything with Haunting Ground, as well as Dino Crisis.
