HUGE Capcom Leak Due To Ransomware - You can thank the group called "Ragnar Locker"

stupid people in charge, either IT or management (or both). as @Mooger Meng mentioned IT is usually one of the first points on the list dumb managers to trim down, because it doesn't make money and they're too stupid to understand what those people actually do (not saying they're perfect, I've seen plenty of slacker IT depts, but as long as the dude in charge knows what's up I can live with that). so after "what are we paying those people for?!" the red pens come out - with obvious effect. remember it only takes one retard to download the wrong file or plug in a usb he found on the toilet to compromise a network, that's why shit is usually locked down tight.
IT is a department who nobody really notices when things are running fine but everyone blames when something goes wrong, which results in managers making genius cost-cutting measures along the lines of "All of our computers are fine, why are we spending so much on IT guys when they don't have to do anything?" and, inevitably, "All of our computers are encrypted with ransomware, why are we spending so much on IT guys if they couldn't stop that?"

It's a pretty shit field to work in because it's utterly thankless and unless you're employed by a company that does third-party support your job is pretty much the first thing that'll go in cost-cutting measures. Remember to thank that technician that comes round and replaces your mouse because your current one is acting up, that gratitude will probably be the highlight of his career.

That's if the person running the company is thick and can't technology for shit (which in this day and age, unfortunately, is most of the time). One of the jobs i worked at had a higher-up (not CEO, but not a department director either) that was always talking to the head of IT, and understood (for the most part) what was going on behind the scenes, so if something got fucked up, we wouldn't be the ones to take direct blame for it.

But then you have people like this...
which results in managers making genius cost-cutting measures along the lines of "All of our computers are fine, why are we spending so much on IT guys when they don't have to do anything?" and, inevitably, "All of our computers are encrypted with ransomware, why are we spending so much on IT guys if they couldn't stop that?"
... which is something I have to deal with at my current job. Me and one other person ALMOST got shit-canned this summer because the owner of the company (after having multiple conference calls with him, the head of the branch I was working at, the server guy (who lives in a different state but can handle things remotely) and myself) decided that he was going to downsize IT and give majority of our jobs to the heads of all the other 6-7 branches of the company (password resets, Android/iPhone email set-ups, account creations, etc...) just because he didn't like that IT were getting a bajilion calls about email/account password issues, even though we did everything by the book (warn everyone months ahead of time, create a ridiculously easy step-by-step instruction document, etc...). Half of the problems were "last minute" people that either don't read or don't care about what other people in the office send them unless it's from their direct boss. Anyway, once the branch directors heard about this, they all flipped their shit collectively (because they already have enough on their plate as it is and majority of them are not tech-savy), so the owner had no choice but to leave IT alone. After that I've been job searching on the side because this dumbass could pull something like that again at any minute, so I feel like (at least with this place) that my job is ALWAYS on the line, no matter how good of a job I do.

Not entirely true... part of the problem is that some people that work in IT either A. hate their job (for whatever reason), B. are socially awkward autistic speds, or C. have a HUGE chip on their shoulder because they act like they always know more than you. As a result, depending on who you talk to, IT will get a bad reputation.

IT is just like any customer service job. You have to interact with the customers/employees, sympathize with them, and most importantly LOVE what you do. Not to toot my own horn but with each job I've been in I've been on good terms with almost every person (mostly women since they ARE office jobs), and the ones I weren't were miserable pricks that NOBODY in the office liked.

Remember to thank that technician that comes round and replaces your mouse because your current one is acting up, that gratitude will probably be the highlight of his career.
Personally, I would rather walk around the office, going underneath desks rewiring shit, and open up towers to fix them rather than stay in my cubicle doing phone support anytime, but thats just me.

Lmao Capcom does not give a single shit about Breath of Fire. We have to put up with endless Persona garbage, terrible ""remakes"" of bad final fantasy games, and they just sit there on top of that IP like it's lint or gunk under the sink.
Also this saddens my Megaman Legends/Tron Bonne battered heart.
Yes it hurts. The fucking mobile game is the latest BOF game.

I've got both versions of BOF 1 and 2 (both SNES and Game Boy Advance), BOF 3, BOF 4, and Dragon Quarter.

The rogue USB stick, that shit still works to this day even if you print out signs and plaster them all over the place about "Don't pick up stray USB sticks that you're not sure who they belong to and unsure where they came from". Someone will insert it for some fucking reason.

I've seen all types, shit with official branding of major companies (i.e. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon), stuff with generic names taped on them (i.e. Tom, Kerry, Joe) in the hopes someone would have a coworker with the same name, ones put back into the package so they resemble some kind of freebie promotional item (this is why they stopped using those are promo items for major or big events), to ones that have even entered the company lost and found because they were taped to the entrance with a found note where the other departments tend to enter.

Something like autoplay might be useful as an unlockable after you beat the game. Like if you want to just enjoy the story again. But win buttons in general are bad. They of course are now "accessibility options". Anyone who can't get past the Cuphead tutorial is disabled.

Why evil faggots always cost everybody cool shit
Hey I now have like umpteenth strong as hell magnets, bottle openers, phone stands, phone chargers, wireless mini speakers, cardboard VR goggles, and other shit.

I kinda wish promotional cables caught on, I'm always in need of a specific USB type be it micro or mini or an HDMI cable.

You mean like Maverick Hunter?
I want the assets for this to leak so someone can cram them into the open-source Metroid Prime engine remake.

Plot twist: It's a remake of Final Fight Streetwise and comes with your very own copy of Beat Down: Fists of Vengeance. Only they plot tweek some things to make the previous games non-cannon. Oh, and Haggar is a bumbling fool that sucked at wrestling and Cody is now a FtM and black.
I can't remember since I haven't seen anyone actually discuss Final Fight in ages, but doesn't the modern woke crowd really hate Poison?

If so, I'm voting to throw her into the main playable cast. Nothing brings out the anger like filling the diversity quota with diversity that actually fits the setting and doesn't draw undue attention.

The wokes don't hate Poison the character, just her design history; Capcom went "hey, here's a girl who's going to fight the players!" and then thought "no, we can't have men hitting women on our games, make her tranny" which would make it totally cool and a-OK for some reason.

What Capcom should do is obviusly reboot final fight with Poison and other trannies as main characters, fighting against the evil, corrupt, sexist, bigotted mysogynist transphobic nazi megachuds that want to... rule gender norms or something. It would be a bold, stunning and brave move and get praised by game journos until the end of time.

Until they complain about something like that it's not ok for straight white men to like Poison and it's not ok for Poison to be sexualized because of some backwards retarded reason they pulled out of their ass.

Poison is actually in shape, which is enough for the woke crowd to hate her, even if Poison is a tranny.

lmao look a this motherfucking hypocrite
The ho is mad he won't be able to milk his Capcom's top leaker status for likes any longer. "Ethics", my asshole

Who doesn't want Resident Evil: Hank? "I sell the G-Virus and G-Virus accessories."
Makes me think "Bathank" from Venture Bros.

I didn't read the op or attic but does this mean well finally get a new mvc game or new darkstalkers? Really anything to bring back Felicia TBH...I'm a sucker for catgirls
From what I understand Capcom had all intentions to make a new Darkstalkers but canceled it when the re-release Darkstalkers Resurrection didn't sell well enough because people expecting a new game and getting a re-release instead and choosing to just wait for a new release actually means they don't want a new release at all, right?

While I think that was stupid of Capcom and still want a new Darkstalkers to some degree I can take it or leave it at the same time because it'd be 3D, I've always been kinda meh on the 3D Street Fighters, I wish Capcom still did pixel art.

What I'd really like to see is a new Rival Schools since that was always 3D.

They MIGHT be toying with that idea since they are adding Akira Kazama to the roster of SFV. I think they haven't been gun-ho about that game since the last one was on the Dreamcast, which didn't do too well even though it was supposedly better than the first one on PS1
