Thus there is now more shit coming out about how they're framing the game. It's not the world team who's making it, since the main guy left, it's the same dudes who did Generations and Generations Ultimate. They're trying to recapture the players who left after it went to PC, Xbox, and PS4 which is a very small minority, but Capcom is expecting Rise to pull the same numbers despite being a Switch exclusive. That's a real long shot, especially since Sony went all in to promote World but Nintendo didn't go to the same extent.

It definitely sounds they're setting themselves up for disappointment since it's looking like Rise isn't coming as a full game and DLC is not going to be free. They're expecting the world playerbase to be there day one and to buy all of the digital shit.

Yeah, but the important point is that everyone who worked on the classic games has been gone for a long time. Konami will never be the same.

Considering that in Capcoms eyes pretty much all the legacy RE cast of characters are Ken and Barbie dolls who have no sexual relationships much less character development and have regularly pull character moments out their ass since RE5 it just gets dumber every game because theres no character arc or direction for anyone.

Not read the RE thread (I should now that I'm finally caught up), so sorry if this has been addressed. The writing gets "dumber" every game because each game is written as it's own thing. It's not MCU where it's this meticulously planned story arc. Each game is bolted onto the end of the last one with little or no planning for sequels. Exceptions being games like RE3 that take place between established sequels.

They don't buy things from corporations -- I sincerely doubt they go out of their way to buy Nikes or Coca Cola for that matter, either, despite both companies' efforts to court them.

It's the other way around. They do buy Nikes and Coca Cola, but they do it regardless of woke pandering. They care about their image. It's how they can spend a fortune on apple products while turning a blind eye. It's why issue 1 of woke comic will sell a lot and the sales will drop like a stone for issue 2.

ResetEra is my go-to example because it's both extreme and typical. After all that moral grandstanding about CDPR and Cyberpunk, and they all bought it day 1. They hid behind excuses like getting a free key or claiming they uninstalled the game after being offended, but no one buys it.

Funny how this problem is avoided when you have competent writers and producers who know their shit and dont wing it. Funny thing is that games 1-Code V DID actually manage to keep things pretty consistent. Granted the earlier games only really had to match tone but they managed to have ok characters for the time and told interesting stories and the limitations of the technology allowed them to tell good stories and focus on atmosphere.

That era is gone sadly and what we have now is more cinematic and all, but damn if it isn't boring and feels like exposition or bitching. Theres a balance here that Capcom hasn't managed to find, but then again some of this is uncharted territory for video games. Thats why better writers and producers are needed and...I dont think they're gonna be around anymore. Capcoms pushing this diversity faggotry and will end up neutering their IPs further because of it.

They do realize that Morpheus was a villain and having a trans character in a game at all to begin with was pretty progressive back in 2002.

Something I've noticed about trannies is what triggers them. The AGP troons get offended over every little thing and it's like walking on eggshells.

The genuine dysphorics and HTHS ones are actually fine with characters like Poison from Final Fight and would more likely be upset about Dead Aim being a weak game than the bad guy being theoretically trans.
