It's not even going to be near Virginia until Thursday, but I'm still like this looking at the maps every few hours:

(I'm scared of hurricanes, I don't even keep that a secret)

LOL. Some scientist said the hurricane produces the same energy in 20 mins that a large H-bomb produces. quite interesting.
Apparently, the National Weather Service actually issued a statement on the nuking of hurricanes. I can't find it now with all the Trump news, but I believe it started off with "Needless to say, nuking a hurricane is a very bad idea."

They're really not that bad. Tornadoes are way worse imo, you at least know when a hurricane is coming days or weeks in advance.

Somewhat apples to oranges but hurricanes effect much larger areas over much longer periods of time and much of their damage is due to flash flooding and storm surge not just wind so you'd have to use an extremely narrow definition for "worse" for that to be true. Tornados sometimes level cities, hurricanes sometimes level counties.

You can predict a hurricane and thus pre-position resources to expedite disaster relief/infrastructure repairs, people can evacuate well in advance, and take other steps to minimize the damage they inflict. Tornadoes give you minutes of warning at most. Plus, in Florida and in coastal regions prone to hurricanes have taken additional steps (literally required by statute in the case of the former,) to harden buildings against hurricanes, storm surges, flash floods, etc. and none of those are even an issue, in an immediate sense at least, if you're not a retard and listen when an evacuation order is given. I'd take a cat 3 or 4 hurricane over the storms that produce clusters of intense tornadoes the Midwest gets.

this fucker better start actually heading north instead of being expected to head north because I already ate through most of my tactical emergency survival fudge shortbread cookies

All I'm saying is that when the costliest tornado in recorded history (2011 Joplin at 2.8b) did 1/45th the damage of the costliest hurricanes (Katarina and Havey at 125b each) the question of "which is worse" seems cut and dry.

I'm getting real tired of the media crying wolf over every hurricane and tropical storm. I know it's a ploy for ratings, but come on.
I certainly see them hype some tropical depressions and other minor farts, but this guy's some pretty legit shit.

yeah if the hurricane can just go that-a-way a little bit more that'll be real nice
Every model run in the last 48 hours has tracked further south and west than the one before it. Even if the current track holds and it stays out to sea through Florida, the Carolinas are gonna get dumped on by rain again.

Have they blamed Trump for it yet? Make that a poll option when yo- oh you didn't make a poll, now did you?
