Hurricane Milton

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Still over ocean so he's not gonna weaken until he's near land. He rebuilt his eyewall so he's more resistant to shear

MILTON IS CAT 5 CONFIRMED 165MPH WINDS JUST NOW

It's crazy just how large these waves are. You look at the buoy cams on the ocean. All day, the horizon is flat and waves look like nothing more than tiny waves on the beach. But when the hurricane came, you see the horizon looking lumpy and you can see giant, well formed ways. These are giant fucking waves. Over 30 ft.
Please share links for what you’re talking about, I looked for what you’ve described, but cannot find it.

Just got off the road for the day. NB I-75 North of the Turnpike is running four-wide and still moving like a wagon train. 301 was congested but still moving near the speed limit. I saw a Coast Guard helicopter being moved North on a flatbed as well as the longest CSX train I've ever seen moving empty cars north. The few stations I saw still in service had massive lines for fuel. Good luck everybody!

Lmao that makes it worse because the northeast eyewall is aimed right at Tampa.
And also north would be “better” because to the north there are sandbars and mangroves that would absorb much of the storm surge. If it moves even further south and hits Venice, it will be the greatest shitshow in Florida history.
That’s not true at all if Milton makes landfall to the South of Tampa that’s better because that means less Storm Surge hits Tampa if it makes landfall North of Tampa then Tampa will get much worse storm surge.

I remember maybe 2 or 3 years ago there was a big hurricane headed for New Orleans and everyone was anticipating a 2nd Katrina. A few kiwis/channers found a bunch of static cameras livestreaming and it was an interesting experience watching as the storm came in, has anyone found any similar setups or random camera feeds for this storm?
This Fox outfit from Philadelphia has a live stream that's a rotating feed of cameras in the relevant area.

https://www.ventusky.com/ Buoy. You'll have to look for the buoy near milton. I can't seem to hotlink to the specific buoy.

Calm vs the edge of the hurricane. Those are huge fucking waves. 18-30 feet not even close to the center.

Remember these buoys are about 40 feet in height themselves

Florida Jail in Hurricane Milton Danger Zone Won't Evacuate Inmates
As retarded as this sounds on the surface, a jail is probably one of the safest buildings you could be in during a storm like this. Solid concrete construction, backup generators, food supply. Assuming they get people off the first floor in the event of storm surge, most inmates should actually be just fine.

So I may be a bit late to this but around a little bit after the time I found out the Hurricane was gonna maybe possibly hit disney world I ALSO found out that like Disney replaced the native americans in the california Disneyland peter pan ride with gross nudisney frozen elsa wish style characters that don't fit in at all with the style of the rest of the ride. They did this becauseas with everything, they deemed the old ones racist. HOWEVER! This also included removal of the chief. Disney World's version of Peter pan's flight is getting reskinned as a fucking pixar UP ride that's probably gonna be the same tv screen filled thing as norway maelstrom getting turned into a lazy frozen ride and splash mountain getting turned into a current year-ified princess and the frog without even the main bad guy making an appearance even as a ghost or something. That's 3 rides involving supernatural/old world religion-y shit in passing being removed within the last few years.

Like I'm not someone who believes in a lot of shit but if there was anything to bring the wrath of every iteration of divine judgement down upon disney it'd 100% be one of those 3 parties.
Friends on the other side ain't happy. The great Spirit is not happy either, and Odin? Oh no... ODIN NO PLEASE LET IT GO NO ODIN STO-

Can one of you meteorological niggas give us a rundown of Milton Vs. Katrina’s core stats? Speed, eye size, rainfall, wave height, duration, population of affected areas, etc/whatever other comparisons you think are important? Would be greatly appreciated and would give us tourists some insight other than “whew, these numbers mean big storm bad.” Thank you brothers.

It's ok, you can use the bigger pieces of debris for a stand.

Just bring your own folding chair and extra batteries for your megaphone and you'll be good.
Lol, the good thing about living in a completely artificial concrete hellhole is that it weathers the storms shockingly well. I'd say the airlines might give you more trouble than the storm.

I've noticed a trend in recent years of govts over-reporting the severity of things like this, probably in response to Katrina being way worse than people thought it would be.

So here's hoping no one gets injured and Mother Nature rightfully reclaims what's hers: Insurance company assets.
