I have seen better programs for archiving videos than what I have, but I cannot for the life of me remember what they were called. Now I want to dl something non-related to the farms and I can't because site restrictions with my current software. GAY, but not as gay as me for not bookmarking alternatives in the first place.

i use yt-dlp,
its a command line tool, it still works as of like 2 days ago, the manual is a bit of a clusterfugg tho xdddd :3
i just use it like this this every time, dont really care about preserving quality so i have it set to 720px

by default it will save as webm to the user\home folder.

Yt-dlp and SaveTweetVid cover most anything other than stuff in some of the godawful embedded web players news sites like to use. Some of those you just have to resort to brute force downloading the fragments out via something like cURL after you figure out the source address and file naming scheme, and then stitch them back together with Bandicut or similar editors. The encrypted shit on the BBC or other TV streaming services are the only things those three fail on, and for that kind of stuff, there's desktop capture or the good old analog hole.
