American bread lasts weeks? Bread should go off after a day off it’s fresh. But what the heck is in your bread to make it last weeks? Even our supermarket processed stuff lasts a week max. I dread to think what’s in the American stuff.
A lot of preservatives that I cannot even pronounce.

Thread tax: how come you’re not Hispanic like Rita Hayworth?

What is the appeal of using AI for EVERYTHING?

Because it works.

Because I was born in the north of England, which while beautiful in its own bleak way, is not known for producing glamorous starlets. Also we are all as pale as things dredged from the depths of the ocean, not dusky Hispanic beauties

Well, that bites. I still think you'd be as charming as Rita Hayworth.

Just look at her brunette skin complexion and meticulous aging feature.

Thread tax: why does half this forum think I want to fuck old ladies because I like old movies?

What the hell kind of mold spores do you put in your bread? When my dad bakes a loaf of bread it's good for about a week. It goes bad before store bread does, sure, but what the hell kind of bread only lasts a DAY?? Why would you buy that? You'd be better buying it by the slice at that rate.

but what the hell kind of bread only lasts a DAY??
French style stuff is stale the next day. Home baked lasts a couple of days if you wrap it up. It’s not mouldy, but it’s not fresh. OK for toast on day 2. I slice and freeze it. Supermarket lasts several days. Nothing lasts weeks

When you say "lasting," do you mean staying fresh or staying edible, because I feel like we have different definitions of bread lasting.

I don't get social media like xitter or Instagram or tiktok or Snapchat or other "feed-based" social media sites. I just find imageboards and forums way more engaging to use.

People who grow up with some negative traits in their parents like alcoholism or drug addiction then becoming addicts themselves. How the fuck do you grow up miserable and in terrible conditions and then think "that's a neat trick, let's do that!" If your mum was abusive, beat you and sold you out, left you starving and whatnot because she couldn't put down the meth, what possible reason could you have to think "hmmm, meth sounds like a good idea". Of all the people in the world, surely the one having grown up with firsthand experience of how terrible it is would know to avoid it.

I think people go one of two ways with all that. You either see a family member drink themselves to death and swear off booze forever or you adopt the pattern. I think there’s probably a genetic predisposition to addiction as well.
If you’ve grown up with lack of affection it can take a lot to break the pattern and learn new ways of interacting. Modelled behaviour is something children adopt, which is why it’s so important to not behave like that around kids.
Defining yourself in opposition to bad behaviour probably isn’t healthy either, come to think of it

Sex in movies. Has any movie every actual benefitted from having one? Every sex scene I've even seen in a movie always felt completely unnecessary.

What kind of idiot writes apology letters to their spouse? How performative.

It makes sense to use AI when the challenge of the investigation/analysis/thought process is menial.

Redditors do, if we take them at face value. In fact, I mentioned that specifically because there were a few threads where that very same thing happened. (Let's suspend our disbelief and assumption that these are likely fabricated for upvotes)

I agree, however, an apology letter is embarrassing and performative. It feels like the oldschool detention method of writing "I am sorry for stealing Susie's notebook" on the chalkboard 50x.
