I found two sets of stray kittens with their mother

It would be a good idea to keep record of anything you've fed to them, even if it's just a bit. If animal shelters are anything like the wildlife clinic I volunteered for, they'll need to have a good idea of when the animal last ate or drank anything in case that affects any medical care the animal needs at the shelter.
Then again, they might not care that much- at the wildlife clinic we had a lot of situations where a well-meaning person kept the wild animal in their house for a week and fed it hot dogs or some shit. People are amazingly stupid when it comes to wild animals.

Best of luck to the kitties!

Spay/neuter them obviously, you can foster them for adoption if they are friendly enough. There are people who take care of outdoor cat colonies after fixing them if the space doesn't really exist to bring them inside somewhere or they are too feral to be socialized

Didn’t catch them today, I left a trap out that I will be checking out throughout the night. One of my neighbors is helping me out and is going to buy their own trap tomorrow

However one of the neighbors told me something really fucked that has doubled my fears:

Apparently there was some fucking evil cunt roaming around the neighborhood 4 months ago killing kittens including
throwing fucking acid on them

They never caught him or found out who did it.

If I find this fucker I will beat the absolute shit out of him, call the police annd immediately make a thread on this site about him and personally see too it he is never hireable.

For all my neighbors know is that he could still be at large. However no new incident has popped up so he’s probably gone

Hearing that broke my heart into a million little pieces. I will make sure these Kitties are taken care off and given a proper safe and happy home.

Edit: I’ll keep making updates to the thread when something new pops up

Why do you need traps? The pregernant stray I got liked hanging out with me just because I too like sitting in the backyard. When she had her kittens I was worried because it was raining pretty hard, but she had dug a burrow underneath an ammo crate next to a retaining wall. Unfortunately it wasn't big enough for one that died to exposure, that I ceremoniously placed in the garbage.

Left them alone for the most part and gave them shelters, watching the mother cat fumble in every regard. Eventually there was a bigger storm so I just scooped the four of them up and put them inside (big mistake). They get used to the accommodations, I try to make it work with momma cat bitching since she wouldn't go inside, letting them see eachother regularly.

The cat gets pregnant again, so I relocated her to a good spot, neutring the ones I kept, and gave away one to my brother which was run over by a car within a fuckin' year. Three out of five is still pretty good.

Now that I type all this out, fuck cats.

Depending on how feral the mother and her kittens are a humane trap is a decent way to go. I figure OP is meaning traps like this:

Which is common to own if you live in a more rural area. Cats from all walks of life have pretty dirty claws so getting scratched can be a big deal. Cat scratch fever is no joke a random feral cat scratching you could give you serious health problems. Hope you can catch more OP!

Yeah, yeah. I've set those for coons, just end up catching cats most of the time.

Hey, sorry guys I thought I sent this message earlier but I guess I had a slight autism moment. But here is today's update

I didn't have any luck catching the kittens or their mothers today sadly, but I left out some canned wet food for them to eat.

We successfully caught the first kitten and gave him to the no-kill shelter. They have a high rating and the cats there are very well cared for. My Fiance and I visit the shelter now and again and they do a good job taking care of the animals.

He was a bit nervous at first and swiped at me a couple of times but when I wrapped him in a large t-shirt and made him more comfortable he relaxed and started purring. I created a little den out of the box I used to transport him and an old XXL shirt that I had, (I used to be fat). I played with him for a little bit and he calmed down. He ended up being very sweet if not a bit shy. We checked on him throughout the night and left out a can of wet cat food. We ended up calling him Boon. We were heartbroken to give him away but I know he's going to be going to a good home. I'll check on him at the animal shelter as soon as they get him vetted and checked.

One funny thing that happened was one of our friends who lives near us found a kitten who was spayed and neutered.
