Just now I was going to look up "crywank" and it autofilled to "is Crywank [the band from Manchester] problematic."
And I just kind of sit in stunned silence for a moment. I have seen that word so often, but for the first time in my life it registered that there are actually people out there so unironically, unashamedly gay that they would in good faith not only use that word but proactively vet their media slop to avoid thoughtcrime. Keep in mind, my skin crawls whenever I hear it used. Not some rare journalist type or academic. Hordes of people. Enough that it was one of the top suggestions. Hordes of people out there that sat down, sat down at that computer, and typed in, "Is Crywank problematic" so that they could know whether or not they would be a good boy and go to Libtard Heaven if they listened to it.

Jesus fucking Christ.

Listening to midwest emo and casting the "gay" stone? Very brave of you.

I think autofill is more so based on prediction vs what people actually search for.

it's both, predictions aren't solely drawn from search volume, but they are weighted based on it (among other factors). source: I know an independent SEO guy whose entire career field is just trying to figure out how Google works

I know "crywank" is supposed to be in the sense of "crying while wanking" or whatever but my brain autofilled it to "cry 'wank!'" like some guy running through the streets yelling WANK at everybody. Cry 'Wank!', and let slip the cocks of war!
