I hate how people casually use sci and corpo terminology

It irked me immediately when all media started being called "Content". Musicians, artists, cartoonists, comedians, commentators, they're all "content creators". It boils everything down into a viscous sludge meant to be consoomed and disposed.

I think that's just an element of dystopia. A lack of heart is reflected in everything a person does, down to their clinical choice of words.

This election season been pretty quiet but when it starts to heat up suddenly everyone is a unemployed campaign manager with their talk of "optics" on the campaign trail.

Bothers me because if you can understand it was bad optics but know your guy is still good then what does this say about the rest of the voting public? If cheap pr stunts and flubs have such a profound effect on that it can lead to changing who you will vote for (except for you since you are an enlightened individual) then should those people really have a vote?

Similar to "Oscar bait". If you and everyone of your buddies, commentators, and everyone else can so clearly see it then who the hell is this working on?

Reminder that most Oscar voters are old-ass celebrities and are maybe some of the least grounded/clued-in people on the planet. The kinds of people who think they can nag the media to not write stories about their mansion in the hills. The kinds of people for whom a shitty movie about how cool and awesome Hollywood is and how they're better people for being part of it deserves awards.

So apparently people are missing the follow-up post where I explained my thinking a bit here.

I'm not literally saying "Covid is fake, therefore so is dopamine." I'm saying "what's your justification for thinking this is real when you know 'Science' can and does lie?"
