I hate the Internet and the people who own it

It never occurred to me that iOS requires a WebKit based browser instead, so yeah, the browser config page won't work.
Looking at the screenshots for that "onion browser" though, it seems like it does have some sort of 'security level' setting which might still do the trick.
Before the most recent outage I could access the TOR site using Onion Browser on silver and bronze security settings. Now the WebKit error appears on those settings but not on the gold, gold won’t load passed the bot check though. I’d be curious to hear from anyone who can access the TOR site with Onion Browser.

I'm not an expert at networking, but it seems pretty robust from here:

1. Rent servers in Uzbekislavia
2. Lease dark fiber to AMS-IX
3. Dark fiber provider is not publicly exposed
4. Done (unless AMS-IX caves)
AMS-IX's Internet Peering service does not require the others at AMS-IX to peer with you. You still need to manage your own peering relationships, and those relationships will be publicly exposed. The service only makes it easier to create those relationships to begin with.

Sure, but local ISPs peering with 1776 is basically a given. It doesn't make sense for the trannies to try to cut off the site on that end, as long as it is (theoretically) reachable on the open web. The ISPs get to access a site that their customers want to at zero cost, and I don't think people will complain to the peering ISPs.

Like, at that point, why not just hector Comcast or Sprint or whatever to IP filter it on the customer side? I don't think that's likely to happen.

If KF just gets a local presence in all the major Internet exchanges, how much transit is truly needed?

Same. I've tried 3 different iOS Tor clients, set the security to the lowest setting, and I cannot get past the WebKit error. Prior to this most recent outage, I could connect via Tor using Onion browser.

If anyone out there can connect on iOS, if you could post your browser and settings, I would greatly appreciate it. Things work with a VPN, but if clearnet goes down, I lose access.

As an extreme example, it's possible, if many key providers agreed, to force Null to negotiate with individual local networks. That being said, key providers who don't offer DDOS protection usually have better things to do than blackhole 10k user sites that are several layers removed from them because some random guy said so on Twitter. (HE, for example, seems to just be ignoring emails from everyone involved in this, including Null.)

If you have connection to a single IX, you still need connection between the various IXes, and there's not much competition for that in the U.S. (Most U.S. ISPs can barely be convinced to run fiber to their actual customers, let alone anyone else.) A few key providers could cause major problems by refusing to propagate your routes or blackholing you because they control large chunks of this fiber. There are ways to route around this sort of blockage with anycast BGP by proxying the traffic through local VPSes that aren't blackholed, but not being able to use the big-I Internet would significantly increase hosting costs for complete coverage since you would need to offer traffic from many small data centers in odd locations.

I can't get the onion site on the onion browser on iOS, but the kf.net site works fine (once you turn off the "redirect to onion site"). I am on "bronze" whatever that means. Can't do the wasm and can't find a setting for it.

Pain in the absolute ass compared to Brave; that works just fine on clear and tor and torclear.

I can log in fine on onion, but I can't get to the Farms from clearnet. I live in the US. I keep getting "Page could not be loaded." I had never used a VPN (stupid, I know, but I'm completely incompetent on computers), so I just signed up for one. I'm using it now, but clearnet still won't work for me. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm bummed. Kiwifarms is an important source of free speech and information.

Use Opera it´s SUPER easy

I'm glad to report that both chrome and opera are now working for me on the clearnet. I think the problem might have been my f'ing malwarebytes, which was blocking the Farms but not telling me it was blocking it. Chrome never did tell me it was blocking it. But Opera told me and I cleared the site for it. But it still pisses me off that a malware protector was stopping me from visiting here. That's not their call. It should only block sites that add malware, not sites that point out that troons are fetishistic men. I don't go to porn sites, but I'd be willing to bet malwarebytes doesn't block those sites.

And thank you for the help, A Gunty Paajet.

Ugh, I don't want to shill Proton...

If you can use VPNs, some VPNs support Tor, so you can access onion links in your regular web browser. I am only aware of two VPNs that offer this service, but I haven't done that much research to be honest. Both the ones I know of have an upside and a downside.

ProtonVPN
  • Related to ProtonMail.
    • ProtonMail has an anti hate speech policy and has banned users over it. I just don't trust them.
  • Currently doing their Black Friday sale.
  • If you can't pay anonymously, you might be able to BS some excuse about it being bundled with ProtonMail so you aren't really trying to buy a VPN.
IncogVPN
  • Related to Incognet
  • Not taking new clients due to revamping the service
  • Does not do VPNs as a core business, and has admitted that their service will be bare bones whenever they open up again

All I've seen them say is that they comply with Swiss law on hate speech. Who have they banned?

Telekom in Germany seems to drop KF now (it worked last friday), but I'm a retard who doesn't really understand traceroute/tracepath.

tracepath -b -p 80 kiwifarms.net
1?: [LOCALHOST] pmtu 1492
2: 192.168.1.1 (192.168.1.1) 0.832ms
3: 62.156.244.42 (62.156.244.42) 21.229ms <- Lokal Telekom node
4: no reply

When trying to reach terrahost themselves it peers through GTT, so I'm not sure if the problem is on GTTs or Telekoms side

Hello from the Clearnet, I was having problems for a few days since the incident where most of the US was blocking KF but it appears to have been resolved.

Liz Fong Jones, before you go blind, allow me to remind you that you will never be a real woman.

The site's alive again which is a surprise, changing the DNS didn't work so it seems like the ICANN glowfag shit is another bother that hasn't been solved beyond just using another service.
