I hate the Internet and the people who own it

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Section 230 only applies in the states and even then doesn't it require that they don't editorialize (ie update content).
Most of the players here, though, are going to be Silicon Valley and this current event is mainly affecting the U.S.

Also the EU countries where most of the rest of the action will happen are probably completely on-board with this.

As for the other potential liability [laughs in Chinese].

Can anyone else (particularly another bong) access the clearnet site through TOR or is it just me?
Clearnet site through Tor? What? Like you're opening Tor Browser and putting "kiwifarms.net" in the address bar? Whether that works or not doesn't matter where you are as the traffic is routed through Tor and whether the site loads is dependent on if your exit node can reach the site.

If you're a bong and struggling to load the site, Mullvad's UK VPN can reach the site so you could use that or just load the onion URL if you don't want to pay for a VPN.

The issue isn't really geographical, it's all related to routing, but it just so happens that certain regions will have a lot more success than others due to the transit providers that ISPs use in a given region and their peering relationships with open exchanges.

WTF is “sage”.
Dunno about on the sites you mentioned, but maybe it's related to the 4chan sage?

On 4chan, if you put sage in the email field, you could post without bumping the thread. This would allow the community to retire a thread without janny assistance by making said thread reach the post limit without actually having any meaningful engagement.

Remember that net neutrality shit? How we said if that doesn't exist, and traffic isn't all treated equally, shit like this could happen? Well, golly gee, it's happening.
I mean, I'm not sure any law would stop it from happening here.

From the sounds of the Zayo thing, people are attributing it to a rogue employee rather than the company? At least with the excuses about how he immediately fucked off to some conference and the company just couldn't do anything because it wouldn't look good or be fair.

If it's rogue employees doing this, do they really care what the laws are?

Huh, I didn't know LET had a KF thread. Well, is there anything on LES? Since I know the community at least tried migrate there earlier this year.

I wonder does this open them up to liability for other sites.
Before they could claim they are only simple pipes which didn't curate what went through them. But now that they actively determine what they allow though, that argument no longer stands.
Even if legal liability doesn't apply, the court of public opinion might.

The GLBT have been crying at schools and airports and everyone to cancel Chick-fil-A for at least a decade, saying they supported homophobia. I was like whatever, it's indirect and it's just a business relationship, it's not like they team up to spread a message.

Then 2020 happened and schools cut ties with police departments. Minneapolis schools did, even after they threw Chauvin under the bus. Other schools did, even though other departments in other cities had nothing to do with Floyd.

I see the University of Minnesota in particular has an on-campus Chick-fil-A at their Minneapolis location, and you know what? Now that they've shown they're willing to cut ties with organizations for political reasons, shivers. I'm even going to make this declaration in special text so it really pops too...

I am joining the gays on this one. The University, through its unwillingness to cancel Chick-fil-A for being homophobic despite being willing to cancel the Minneapolis Police Department to protect human rights, has shown itself as being willing to financially support homophobia.

Also, every organization that has a similar track record but uses Zoom or Keybase supports genocide.

Yes, I know I sound crazy, but hey, consistency is a bitch, ain't it? I didn't choose to side with the alphabet soup on this, I was forced to by clown world.

Josh opened the thread on LET. I doubt LES has a thread but I did mention (somewhat jokingly) in the chat that he should open a thread on LES. Also try one on WHT for good measure imo. It'd be fun for the drama at least.

Mullvad's UK VPN
Or any green option, I dunno why people keep saying UK specifically:

It's a 2chan feature originally, which is why it's pronounced "sage" not "sage", and it's mainly just so you can personally reply without bumping (and more importantly express contempt back when it'd show up in the email label). Trying to kill a thread that way doesn't really work better than regular spamming would because it only takes one person, i.e. the faggot OP, to raise it again. It'd be like getting everybody to cooperate for an uninterrupted 300-letter nigger tower.

I keep seeing people claim clearnet is working fine for them in the US with no VPN. But Ive tried every VPN server I can in the US with no luck. Maybe im naive, but it seems like if T1 providers have actually dropped the farms they should have made a statement by now.
Basically ever major US ISP peers with GTT, so even with a US VPN you cannot access the website. It’s a complete blacklist of the domain from being routed to at all. This has only really happened before when corporate lawyers pressured ISPs to block torrenting sites, but now it is being applied to a fucking gossip forum.

God bless this man and his insane autism.

Net neutrality isn't a law, it's a principle that has been treated as inviolable since the inception of the Internet.

It’d be good to have a website separate to KF debunking the lies this censorship campaign was built on in depth. Even if it’s a basic neocities site that can be freely replicated by others. I have 4 days off work now, unlike no dong I cant spend all day on KF, so I’d like to spend that time putting something together. This could include open letters, a point by point deconstruction of DKF’s lies and no language that could be construed as an act of ‘violence’ like acknowledging none of these people are women.

Simple, basic and predominantly text based and a concise overview of the depths these scummy autogynephiles have stooped to in the pursuit of narrative control. I’m a tech smoothbrain so I only know basic CSS, but once I’ve got something up I’d gladly hand the account over to somebody more competent.

I am also using Tor Browser to access clearnet, which seems much faster than using the onion url, is that just in my head or is there a reason for it?

If you use tor and not to eat the onion, you're at the mercy of the routing from the exit node to clearnet; which could easily be in the USA or other locations. Restart your Tor browser or eat the onion.

Even just an "export thread highlights to PDF" button would be amazing. 99% of the shit these troons are assmad about is in the first post anyway.

(Edit: I have problems getting page 4 inserted, but it's below as attachment.)

I know I should not be surprised, but it is absolutely wild to me how users will suddenly pop out of the woodwork and seethe at Null.
"Private companies don't have to host your dox suicide terrorism website sweaty /smug" or some variation of that every 5-7 posts. They really don't seem to get where this line of thinking lands a lot of them 10-20 years down the road.

I'm seeing the same thing. I admittedly don't know much about how TOR works, but I imagine there are some extra KF side shenanigans in place for handling TOR connections, maybe some extra security measures. Accessing clearnet through TOR likely doesn't have any of the extra KF side processing.
