CAs have revoked certs before, but usually because of some technical issue (apple using the wrong length of key, owning entity ceasing to exist or so on), or because of direct government interference (certs revoked because of sanctions on the purchaser's country of origin), or because the certificate authority itself was compromised. Never because of the content the cert was verifying. I remember when they were trying to get LE to revoke KF's certs last year, or the year before, and LE told them to go ACK themselves. I hope they don't go back on that stance now that the dam has been breached.

@Null they're referring to section 1.4.1 of this document https://repo.harica.gr/documents/CPS-EN.pdf, which is a non-exhaustive list of allowed uses for the cert (all of which KF falls under), but what I suspect they mean is actually section 1.4.2

Basically it's a "we can do what we want lol" clause.

e: I believe their reasoning is that the continued operation of KF entails the risk that, if it does eventually get pushed off the internet, someone will werewolf and start shooting trannies. Obviously, there's some difficulty in tring to discern the motivation of panicked morons, but I've seen crazier ideas expressed in the past.

The first paragraph of 3.1 refers to the CP/CPS, or Certificate Practice Statement, section 1.4.1, which seems to be the most likely source of their justification as it allows for a very broad interpretation.
