I hate the Internet and the people who own it

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
greece is EU and likely has implemented a bunch of EU style hate speech laws
Nah, in Greece laws are barely enforced in the first place, we only have a so called "antiracist law" which has only convicted a priest for inciting others to spit on gays, but that's pretty much it. Also there's a holocaust denial law but confirmed deniers have been acquitted because it specifies that the holocaust denial's intent must be to cause genocide or some shit like this. Greece is relatively very based, compared to the rest of Europe, but I might be biased.

I just realized I actually don't know what is keeping us off the clearnet right now. Site originally went down due to DDOS and hardware issues if I am not mistaken and the certificate kerfuffle seemed like a rider that was primarily about TOR. This isn't like the whole ISP thing from awhile back to my knowledge, so can anyone enlighten me about the current reason why we're onion only for the time being?
No IP-Transit provider currently, we are briefly on clearnet thanks to IX port provided by VSYS.host.
We do not have full internet coverage though, only ISP's that are present on this IX can reach clearnet Kiwifarms.

In order for Kiwifarms to operate we have to get some connectivity to any Tier 1(or "semi" Tier 1 like HE or Cognet).
I believe everything is in planning, only thing we need is time.

Beware of Greeks bearing .gifs.

The whole “authorities will investigate” thing is interesting, because it suggests that the complainers have alleged a crime of some sort being done by the subscriber.

Maybe it actually is a smart thing to do to call their bluff, give the (anonymous) complaints to the local cops who will shrug and then HARICA has a green light to carry on with their business as usual.

Unless there have been something like death threats against specific staff members by agent provocateurs, in which case that should be treated seriously. Frankly whoever does shit like that gets what’s coming to them.
Someone on Onionfarms broke down HARICA's response and this stood out.

I said this during the Keffals bullshit, but I just want to reiterate how proud I am of Josh and the Kiwi Farms in general for standing up in the face of this insanity and not backing down. This is a fight worth taking on.
If anything, the freedom of information being sought on the Internet can be taken away easily all due to money and power. It's just nice to see Null is not corrupt to fall this charade, but it's also concerning that many well meaning people fall under pressure due to this.

The text industry is going to have a lot of deep consequences for this, and it won't be pretty.

Should we send them polite letters thanking them for their reversal, or would it be better off to not bother them in any way, even to thank them (even though I have problems with their statement, a light remains a light)?
We should normally not pozload my neghole. But I see no issue with a polite thankyou.
The problem is there are a lot of autists on the site and some of them might not understand the difference between "polite letter" and "mental schizo rambling".

Would probably want/need a short polite example letter if people absolutely have to pozload my neghole.

im glad to see there is still at least a little bit of common sense out there. do i think it will last though? not really. the fact that they instantly received emails attacking them gives me similar vibes to that kid showing up in ireland when keffals was on the move. i also remember hearing about how one of the reasons byuu came here begging us to leave him alone when pretty much nobody gave a fuck about him on here was because people were posing as kiwis when in reality they were apart of some reddit forum or whatever the fuck.

what im trying to say here is that while the troons can be annoying and the people who cave to them are pathetic we always need to remember not to stoop to their level. i dont believe anyone here would send threatening emails but if you did then please do us all a favor and kill yourself.

that type of behavior is no better than the troons who whined to HARICA in the first place. with that being said i also just wanna say people who cite wikipedia as the absolute unbiased truth depress me. i can accept the cloudflare thing because whatever its still dumb but cloudflare is at least a company. wikipedia is just a open book for anyone to say whatever on. taking anything wikipedia says as absolute fact should get you disqualified from having an opinion.

either way i hope HARICA stands with this choice and does not back step after the very obvious soon to be troon complaint explosion.

also i dont know if this would be a good idea or not but since they are supposedly investigating further should someone send them that substack thing destiny wrote about us? seeing as it does help clarify some things in regards to the suicides. or would it be better to just say nothing and see what happens?

They aren't investigating. They're waiting to see whether or not law enforcement investigates.

Sending them information they haven't asked for may well just annoy them further.

As long as we're on the general topic of "gay oppers": why do people always bring up Michael Janke as a suspect when things go down? Yeah, he's a glowie or glow-adjacent or whatever, but has he ever actually done anything to take down KF?

Makes you wonder if everyone else who wavers gets sent a deluge of "I AM GOING TO KILL YOUR WIFE t. kiwifarms" to make sure we look like rabid apes and ensure they won't listen to any appeals to reconsider their decision.

Also makes you wonder how many actual rabid apes are part of our community and fucking things up for the rest of us.
That was the narrative on Twitter this morning. DKF and a number of other slightly more popular accounts were saying the Greeks reversed their decision because we contacted their family members with death threats. I wish I could say the projection was astounding but I'm not even phased by it anymore. I'm not even sure if any information about the company or any of the employees has been posted here.

I really think the people taking the farms down hate the people who complain to them, and most of them do so out of convenience and apathy to the farms.

I've been thinking about this for a while. If someone wanted me to do something for them, I would want to feel like it was something I wanted to do, not something I had to do. I want to help other people have a nice day, a better day. I think most people are like that.

It's why I know we can win. All of it
. Kindness is the root of courage, maybe it's time we tell the people who can help, that they can be strong against those who despise and use them, and that their strength has meaning.

We should make a thread about what the forum means to us, and spread it to everyone we can that is willing to help and is currently doing so.

Cowardice is apathy in the face of adversity, Bravery is action in the presence of belief. So let's make em believe that maybe something as simple as keeping a gossip forum can make someone's day a little better. Maybe everyone can do that, for all the little shit in life.

"Harica was especially concerned with activities that might have led to suicides."

All roads lead back to a homosexual college freshman named Tyler Clementi:

Tyler Clementi (December 19, 1991[3] – September 22, 2010) was an American student at Rutgers University–New Brunswick who jumped to his death from the George Washington Bridge over the Hudson River on September 22, 2010, at the age of 18. On September 19, 2010, Clementi's roommate, Dharun Ravi, used a webcam on his dorm room computer and his hallmate Molly Wei's computer to view, without Clementi's knowledge, Clementi kissing another man. Clementi found out after Ravi posted about the webcam incident on Twitter. Two days later, Ravi urged friends and Twitter followers to watch via his webcam a second try between Clementi and his friend, though the viewing never occurred.

Ravi and Wei were indicted for their roles in the webcam incidents, though they were not charged with a role in the suicide itself. On May 6, 2011, Wei entered a plea agreement allowing her to avoid prosecution. Ravi went to trial in early 2012, and was convicted on May 21, 2012, on all charges related to the webcam viewing, with the jury additionally finding that Clementi reasonably believed that Ravi had targeted him for his romantic orientation, thus making Ravi guilty of committing hate crimes against Clementi.[4] After an appeals court overturned parts of the conviction, Ravi pleaded guilty to one count of attempted invasion of privacy on October 27, 2016.

Clementi's death brought national attention to the issue of cyberbullying and the struggles facing LGBT youth.

There was an enormous paradigm shift during the Obama administration. It was forced through the courts right under our noses and there was little any of us could do about it except voice our objections. Gay marriage was only one small part of it. This case is if anything even more important and pivotal. This case established a precedent in the USA, home of the first amendment and enshrined freedom of speech: if you're mean or even just critical towards someone who later decides to commit suicide, it is your fault.

This shift in legal and moral precedence was enormous and has proved catastrophic. We should have had an open debate and referendum on it, as a society, but instead it was stealthily imported and instituted by high-handed officials with no discussion whatsoever.

Many things have occurred downstream from and due to this shift. If you aren't already familiar with the case, it may be a good idea to familiarize yourself.

I was one of the weirdos back in the day saying this was doomsday for our civil liberties. A lot of people, even conservatives, simply shrugged and said I was paranoid and that "someone has to be held responsible" when a BPD nut engages in BPD nut behaviors of his own volition. Someone other than the BPD psycho, of course.

Once again, it started with gays and switched horses to trannies once the gays were ensconced legally and socially as precious, blameless, holy beings.
