I know. TMI. But I don't give a crap.

It's frustrating that when a lot people think of autism, they think of some maniac screaming, banging their head against the wall, and acting like a toddler throwing a temper-tantrum. When the reality is.. is that a lot of people with autism are normal people who you wouldn't even suspect of having the condition.

Some people act like having autism is the worst thing in the world when it's really not that bad. (At least if you're high-functioning like I am)

I'm assuming I'll get either trolls or genuine responses. Either way, it's fine.

It boxes you in and causes you to be binned with legit retards. adopting psych labels makes you a vodoo doll chained to whichever whim begets the scientific authorities.
Fair point. I don't go around broadcasting my diagnosis though, unless:
1) I find someone else with my condition that I can relate to (OP in this thread.)
2) Someone starts bombarding me with questions about my behavioral irregularities, and I don't want to give an in-depth answer.

Is that really true in 2024 for a "lot" of people? When I was growing up in the 90s maybe. I'd say the savant stereotype is more common now. And it was true of a lot of people with autism back then, because the support was still in its infancy.

Maybe at quick glance, ASDs are pretty easy to spot though if you know anything about it. Both persinality and mannerisms.

I don't know man. I just wouldn't do it. If people call you weird, own it. Or ask them if there's a problem for them if they can't stop getting in your face for no reason and if there's a reason, apologize, better yourself. Pointing to xyz condishun is just the easy way out and it doesn't even work with some people or they just stop engaging you up front and go behind your back because they are scared of the H.R. department.
