I think I may be sleepwalking. I was talking to my Mom this morning and she said I had a conversation with my Step-Dad yesterday that I have absolutely no recollection of. I'm kind of worried. I haven't been sleeping well lately and I've been quite tired.

If you are, there are some ways to minimize the risk of sleepwalking.

Maintain a regular sleep schedule, as in going to sleep and waking up at the same time each day
Avoid stimulation before bed like video games, working on the computer or other electronics
Sleep in absolute darkness. If you have a computer with a flashing LED light or something, turn it off or move it.
And, most importantly, never go to bed feeling stressed out. Something like a warm bath or a cup of tea before bedtime does wonders.

^ What Naichu said.

Also, don't mix depressants and stimulants. Drinking alcohol and also having a lot of spiced food, caffeine & nicotine can lead to sleep walking.

We just finished covering this in psych class, so here's some advice.

Contrary to popular belief, it's totally safe to wake a sleepwalker. It's just a dick move because sleepwalking happens in the deep REM stages of sleep, meaning it's like waking someone up four hours into an eight hour sleep cycle. As for tips, have your wife or parents lock every door and window and hide all keys, knives, guns, and household cleaners from you. Make a commitment to not go out during your bedtime, as sleepwalking you can be pretty damn convincing. Take note that while it will seem like you're having a normal conversation with someone, a good way to detect if it's sleepwalking is if the sleepwalker says something really freaking out there. So be careful if you're keeping any secrets. Finally, go see a professional if you're certain that you're sleepwalking. It can be a very serious matter (especially if your house has stairs).

Maybe you might have an allergy to something?
