It's not really about the virginity. It's more about maturity, and growing up. Having sex, or more specifically courting somebody into that, is a process of profound extroversion, largely because it requires you to fully engage with somebody else's needs, wants and personality. It's a rite of passage to being able to interact with a fellow human being at the most intimate and vulnerable level, and that does include with prostitutes. You're not really the same person after your first time - often because its awkward or not what you expected, but because its a life changing experience. What people make fun of with virginity is it's evidence you don't have the skills, game or personal strength to complete what's basically your biological function, and thus you're not complete as a human being.

No, it's not required to go through life, but it is a critical life experience that I would argue alters your outlook. It breaks a social barrier of self-ego (which everybody, you included, has) that does wonder for a lot of personal hangups.

If you dislike being distracted by women, then best thing to do is to experience what its like to be with one. The icky, awkward side of it as well. Because all you have in your head as far as it concerns women is apparently an impossible fantasy that you will never get that will drive you further into madness. Cartoon pornography. It's not real. It's just escaping into your own misery, and a deprivation you obviously feel compelled to justify.
