I was a tween Vic Mignogna fan

i still have no idea who Vic Mignogna is
It was a huge drama back in the late teens, and actually brought a whole bunch of new users to the farms as anyone who had anything good to say about Vic Got mega banned on Anime forums and Twitter. He was essentially #metoo'd and since I realize there are now people here who don't know what that is 6 years later, essentially it was a witch hunt to accuse as many prominent men as possible of sexual impropriety as possible for social media clout and money.

Vic Mignogna basically got caught up in that, and it became a whole thing that led to crossovers with other personalities followed on the Farms like Nick Rekieta. The whole thing was a complete L because Rekieta convinced Vic to use his family friend lawyer to run the case, despite the guy having no experience with defamation law. So the entire lawsuit died at a procedural hurdle due to a notary fuck up. Nothing was ever determined, as the case never got to any sort of determination phase. It was dismissed for improper paperwork.

that sounds like a lame drama to be fair

Vic apparently has terrible luck when it comes to choosing friends and associates, which is why everyone around him always turns out to be some sort of weird deviant sex freak or otherwise fucked in the head.
Christian naivety of thinking if he's nice to the lions then surely they won't eat him. At least thats the impression I got from skimming the webwar threads.

More reason why you should never get invested in celebrities, no matter how low level they are. Its all just gay drama.

Most allegations where basically "I heard from someone that he was sorta kinda inappropriate at some con sometimes" and once the lawsuit happened it was revealed the thing that apperatetly got him fires was that third bulma signed a jellybean and as a joke he ate it and said "I've eaten Monica's bean". Later in the trial she made a new allegation she never talked about before and everytime she told details changes but it basically amounted to in her room he asked her for sex and when she said no he left, also the one witness she cited basically said it didn't happen.
It was all dumb bullshit and every side made everything infinity worse and now he's treated like a confirmed rapist over sexjokes, con rumors and a nothing allegation made by people who directly benefit from him being fired.

Vic, and many, many Christians, really need to learn the line from the Beloved Disciple.
Do not trust everyone blindly, try them, to see if they are good or not.jpg

Vic has range.
That's Edward Elric.
Vic is a legend, his Broly is amazing, especially in Broly: Second Coming. I know he only has one actual line in it (two if you count him saying "Kakkarot...?!" in a fearful manner) but his laughs and yells are intense and communicate A LOT.

His laughs are great. Never saw the other Brolys as I figure they had major diminishing returns. I refuse to watch Bio-Broly. But I'll check out some Iewtube videos on second coming. Vic may have gotten fucked, but at least his characters get some of the best girls around.

Hey as a fan who staffed cons and met vic minogia even back then he was always an unethical person.
Almost all the VAs have serious alcoholism issues, are insufferblely left wing, or some version of sex pest.
Vic minogia always had an issue with sleeping with groupies.
Notice I didn't say rape, I didn't say sexually assault I say sleep ie fuck with his groupies.
Monica rial and almost everyone at funimation was cool until vic minogia started getting more money.
The VAs at funimation are almost all horrible people.

Vic is how i got interested in the farm. Heard of it before but never got has engaged with lolcow material before him and all the stuff surrounding him.

The only thing to come out of this whole debacle is that the appearance of propriety is as important as being proper in itself. Doesnt matter if you arent a sex freak pedo pervert, if you leave any chance at some sort of accusation you are gonna get accused. Especially in crazy entertainment circles like anime dubbing. He should have just claimed he was gay and that every woman accusing him are bigot and most people would have believed it far more.

Profoundly homosexual trousers, if that don't prove it nothing does.
This, completely. The way he dressed/dresses was/is extremely 2000s edgy metrosexual. I remember seeing him in person for the first time in his like, black, ripped up, far-too-many-zippers jeans and my Catholic schoolgirl mind was shocked, confused, blown away, etc. I assumed that this was the "alternative lifestyle" I had heard so much about

There were depositions of Vic, Monica, and Toye. I would watch those if you feel compelled to watch anything. I think Vic existed in a grey area, he wasn't as good a guy as his fans made him out to be. That being said he was the only one out of the three to seem genuine during deposition. If anyone has a link to those, I would appreciate it.

We'll never know if he actually did what they claimed he did because of incompetence by his attorney, that's the really sad part.

Ty Beard fucked Vic and Rakieta suggested Ty Beard, that's where he lost the anime fans. It was the turning point where Rakieta started to become a Lolcow from the perspective of the site. As a matter of fact, one of the more interesting warning signs for Nick came in the form of his love of Redo of Healer a anime which is essentially a revenge rape story.

He was though, he literally admitted to being a sex addicted pest in his depositions.
from what I recall he never was into poly shit or bdsm shit. The only thing he admitted to was hiring a prostitute once because he felt he needed some skinship when he was in between relationship. Thats a far cry from being a weird sex freak. All of his relationship were monogamous, we never heard of him doing weird sexual shit.

Even the shit he was accused of never enter sex freak territory. He touched that fat cow hair at the studio and said she had beautiful hair? He "graped" monica in a hotel room and she just stood there? The only thing that was suspicious of his behavior was the accusation he was inappropriate with a student when he was some kind of drama teacher when he was younger and everything about that one was found to be bullshit from some scorned fujo.

Remember a lot of the hatred of Vic came from him being a Christian man and his refusal to sign gay artwork of his character. IT started the hate from the crazy fujo girls. The coworker hatred then started because the guy was just making bank at con (he was highly engaged with his base) and was highly successful in his field (he was getting lots of lead or important role as well directing jobs). But he wasnt part of the "clique" of the texas VA community.

With hindsight, I can believe this. As a straight dude, I have first hand experience that sometimes your dick can start trying to make decisions for you, and that's always dangerous. But at the same time, it was always obvious to me that the entirety of the Voice Actor lollipop guild wanted to Ceasar him.

And apparently he's related to Nick Rekieta in some way...? It's all so weird
Honestly, it's a sad story. I was an avid follower of Weeb Wars, and that's what brought me to the Farms. I'll give you a detailed account in order.

Basically, Funimation was looking for a new director and Vic Mignogna was being considered for the position. He was decade long friends with many other VAs who secretly hated him various reasons, mostly due to jealousy. The main culprits were Chris Sabat, voice actor of Vegeta, Monica Rial, voice actress of Bulma, and Jamie Marchi of various minor roles. These faggots got together when they found out Vic was about to be their boss, and went to Funimation HR to accuse him of sexual harassment to get him fired. They basically thought of whatever slightly inappropriate thing he's done to try to get him fired. They came up with 3 stories.

1. At a convention Jamie Marchi was doing some kind of weird touching play thing with Vic, and Vic touched her hair. This happened several years ago, but this was the accusation she went to HR with despite having no issue with it previously.

2. Several years ago, Monica Rial once went up to Vic with a jelly bean with her name written on it. He made the obvious sex joke that she set him up for. This is what Monica claimed was sexual harassment to HR.

3. The last story is that Monica Rial was allegedly bad touched by Vic in a hotel room at a convention, but she was saved when VA Stan Dahlin came in and stopped him. A story which Stan Dahlin would later claim was false and made up by Rial.

After their talk with HR, Monica Rial posted allegations that she was bad touched by Vic to Twitter and started a firestorm. Funimation immediately fired Vic. After he was told what happened, he was near suicidal. His friends for years stabbed him in the back. Deep down, they were never his friends, they knew this might drive him to suicide, and they didn't care anyway. Sabat being the big brains that helped them scheme this together allegedly. Sabat then contacted conventions and threatened to pull the entire Dragonball cast from multiple conventions if they didn't cancel Vic's appearances, regardless of whether they had contracts or not. Which is extremely illegal and he has unpunished for to this day.

Since this was the era of #Metoo, every blue haired fujoshi retard went nuts accusing him of raping them in gruesome ways. Anime News Network published stories smearing him, accusing him of groping his fans, and some of these similar outlets even photoshopped innocent pictures of Vic with his fans to make him look like he was touching them.

Vic, who's completely the victim in this was absolutely destroyed, crying on YouTube, apologizing to his fans. These cast of Dragonball completely destroyed Vic's life. Nick Rekieta, who was not a Lolcow at the time, smelled bullshit, called Vic Mignogna and encouraged him to sue and not take this lying down. He suggested Ty Beard, a friend of Nick's to take up the case. He did, and the case of Vic Mignogna went forward. He sued Funimation, Rial, Marchi, and Rial's fiance Ron Toye. Ron Toye inserted himself into the drama via Twitter and threatening Vic in various ways. Ron himself is a wife beating faggot cuckold.

Anyway, more accusations came out, none of them were true, sides divided. More came out about Vic. Turns out the only thing Vic has ever done were cheat on his wife Michelle Specht, who also turned coat to side with Rial. Vic TRIED to have a threesome with two con hoes who were twins. Did not happen. That was about it. The allegations of him fucking or raping his fans were just not true. Every accusation was more hamstrung than the last. I personally had someone try to tell me were "con staff" and caught Vic in a hotel room with multiple naked children but the police covered it up because "he's too powerful of a celebrity", so take any allegations from would be "con workers" with a grain of fucking salt.

As far as the lawsuits go, Rial and Toye hired a lawyer Lemoine, a Lolcow in his own right with one lung who tried to game the system by running up his legal bills as high as possible to claiming this case required $300k because it's a high profile case and he is a "defamation expert" which was conveniently the exact amount Nick raised to help fund the legal effort. Stan Dahlin came out of the woodwork, had no idea this was going on, and blew open Monica's hole by claiming Monica was never raped and he never saved her, she made the whole thing up. He entered a written testimony as well stating so. In reality, Rial never bothered to let Stan know she was doing this and so he blew her story apart and one by one, people realized Vic was as clean as a whistle.

The legal battle did not go that way though, the judge who presided over this case was Judge Chupp. Judge Chupp is probably the most incompetent judge in Texas. He was more interested in playing golf, and when he demanded a specific monetary amount in damages from Ty Beard, before discovery happened, and Ty Beard couldn't give him a specific number (because he physically couldn't at the time, he needed discovery to find more evidence of everything Rial and Sabat had done), Chupp THREW THE ENTIRE CASE OUT. He later would realize and admit this was wrong to do. He also was pissed at Ty who messed up a notary by waiting until last minute. Getting Rial and co off for lying about being raped to get Vic fired drew up enough of a firestorm to get people to actually vote against Judge Chupp in Tarrant county who was up for a promotion, which basically ended his career and forced him into retirement.

At this point, Vic had no choice by to appeal, owing Rial and co. hundreds of thousands of dollars. Chupp tried to warn him they could award him more in penalties for appealing. So he filed an appeal, and then we waited for over a year. You can ask a lot of people what happened, but the reality is during the appeal process, COVID hit. The courts were shutdown, and when they came back several months later, everything had changed. They had a huge backlog of cases to get through and it took several months. I just want to paint a picture here. Imagine being an appeals clerk who just got out lockdown and life is back to normal mostly. You're months behind on work, have dozens of cases to work on, and you also have Vic's. A massive several thousand page (thanks Lemoine) novel of a case, sitting on your desk. Vic's case was the last pre-COVID case they ruled on. They ruled on several cases that happened long after Vic's. They only ruled on it after lawyers from every party asked for an answer. They dismissed the appeal due to the notary issue, which many people blame on Ty. While that is his fault, the reality is people are lazy and they were looking for any excuse to not have to read through thousands of pages of this case. The appeals court took any excuse to get rid of it as quickly as possible and fucked over Vic for no other reason than people are lazy.

Then, Vic gets fucked again with the appeals court hearing about the fees and the judge awards Rial and co. nearly half a million dollars which Vic owes them to this day.

There's even more than this, the Weeb Wars thread is thousands of pages long with several side-arcs, other notable parties, and some absolutely psychotic and deranged people. There was the Broken Staircase document, encouraging more people to make up fake allegations, accusing Johnny Young Bosch and various others. Many VAs were exposed to be duplicitous faggots. MarzGurl has her place in this story. I didn't include Shane Holmberg who's another faggot. Manjawlo who made dozens of sock accounts to keep slewing Vic on Twitter with dozens of fake allegations. Then there's Renfamous, the blue Whale who's job, (yes she was literally paid a lot of money to do this) was basically to drum up drama by making false accusations, etc. Honestly, it's a nightmare slew of bullshit drama and enough to make you never believe an allegation without proof ever again.

The bottom line is, Vic is as clean as a whistle. Anyone who says otherwise is lying or wrong. He never raped anyone. He never groped anyone inappropriately. He's the victim of the Dragonball voice acting cast whom are all terrible people. Vic is a victim who got fucked over by Funimation, fucked over by his "friends", fucked over by the anime and convention industry, fucked over by the justice system, fucked over by Nick, and fucked over by #metoo, fucked over by COVID, fucked over by the appeals court, and driven to near suicide and poverty by jealous, disgusting people. If there's a moral in this story, I don't really know what it is. It's a sad story. We all wanted justice for Vic, it never came.

Correction, he asked them if they wanted to, the thots giggled but said "no" and he said "okay", and that was it. Nothing happened. Also we only got this information because a Kiwi could lip-read and it was discovered the twins (one of whom is a flight attendant if I remember right) have a history of being con thots.

And while Vic got screwed over by the courts, isn't it interesting the "victors" on Twitter are a bunch of sore winners still whining to this day after screeching that everyone should "let it go" once they "won". Also MarzGurl, best friends with a sex pest who shot himself when he was reported to his bosses for fingerbanging an unconscious woman, was the mastermind behind #KickVic because Vic and a girl he was seeing made her feel uncomfortable in an elevator. She is still stalking him and seething at his existence and not getting noticed by him instead of working on her marriage with her manlet chihuahua.

The lore runs so deep it has seasons and spin-offs. Should've won AOTY honestly, it only didn't because some people didn't like how it ended.
