Let's Sperg I was looking forward to playing Baldur's Gate 3 until I heard more than a few lines of dialogue

Many RPG writers have become far too shameless about shoving their subpar work in your face. The awkward theater kid dialogue of Baldur's Gate 3, the pointless yawn-inducing lore dumps that Pillars of Eternity hits you with before you even start the game, the fanfic smut-tier "romances" of every Dragon Age release. I'd honestly take Oblivion NPC interactions over any of this - They obviously fucking sucked but at least it didn't feel like some idiot with a media studies degree was being overly proud of himself when writing them.

BG3 is a pretty fun game, but the dialogue is definitely corny at times. I'm almost done the game and I think the story is fine so far (though I wasn't looking for much on that front) even if there's room for improvement.

Wanna talk about a real game impacting issue? How is the multiplayer still so buggy??

they were also made 25 years ago and by a completely different dev team.
i am still mad at larian for making bg3. they should have just kept to their own setting and made divinity original sin 3 instead of defiling the good name of the baldurs gate games with their homoshit bear sex cringe writing.

Every time I watch a video or a stream of this game it's always dialog. How much of this game is listening to characters talk vs actually playing it?

Opinion of the game may vary, but there is 100% chance it'll turn into a 70$ live service open world buggy mess with microtransaction in any other company's hand. Or still stuck in development hell.
The only one I'd say would be "better" would probably be owlcat. Their writing is woke as hell but there's an entire roguelike dlc where you can roll your own party. Pure gameplay without any of their tranny bullshit. Just wait like 5 years upon release and hope they'll be able to fix half the game breaking bugs.

Both Owlcat and Larian are pozzed by the IP. Wizards of the Woke or Paizo. Both are equally woke, Paizo is just less scummy.

This is clearly seen as in Owlcat's 40k title the degeneracy is very much toned down, and downright absent from the good guys, aka Imperials.

Baldur's Gate 3 looks like the gayest Clown World shit, and I will never play it. It's even one of those games that requires an SSD because whatever army of pajeets they hired didn't optimize anything at all.

There are so many good games out there. Why would I waste even a minute on my time on this trash?

Seems like most people didn't get the message though. The amount of times I've seen people talking about BG3 while just calling it Baldur's Gate is ridiculous. They act like the older games don't even exist.

Dude, game devs have been waiting for SSDs to be standard for a decade. You may as well bitch about your DDR2 underperforming.

Fortunately, the release og BG3 has not resulted in a bunch of normie fags flooding in to the classic BG community. The og games still filter these people, even on the easier difficulties. From the ones who do give bg1 and bg2 a try, I read complaints like "why isn't there more dialogue and why is most of it not voiced". The modern RPG audience just wants a conversation simulator where they can romance a waifu and make shitty little choices through dialogue.

BG3 had its moments but they were few and far between. For the most part getting through the game was a slog and I'll be happy to never touch it again.
