Eh, I've seen far worse-looking developmentally disabled people. However, I have a hunch they're not quite as open towards disabled people as they say they are, if they're anything like the company around here that makes similar claims.
Probably. I remember the local Goodwill championed doing good work for the mentally disabled while employing them for sub-minimum wage. Yet despite their group of enslaved retards they're still overpriced, and they get mad at me for pointing that out.

Today I made chocolate ice cream. Will make a batch of mozzarella ice cream next week.

Lucky you. Most freezers I've tried never seem to get cold enough.
On a modern ice cream maker, you need to keep in mind a few things:
- Higher fat content means ice cream won't get "truly" cold, but that's a good thing since you don't want an impenetrable brick
- Keep the ice cream maker "bowl" in the freezer for like two days, if you wash it quickly you don't need to worry about it, it should still be cold
- Good air circulation/lack of frost keeps your freezer colder
- Let your ice cream sit overnight in the freezer
- When you put it into a container, pre-chill the container even if it's plastic, it makes a difference

I’ve not ice cream for ages. I might have to make strawberry ice cream.

Cookie dough flavored ice cream is obsolete and should be designated a legacy product these days that they only make for old farts (much like Necco wafers). I went to the store the other day and Pillsbury makes edible raw cookie dough now, apparently because they heat treat the flour. Tastes exactly like the unsafe stuff too.
Anyone threatened by raw cookie dough doesn’t deserve to live.

I tried making Nutella swirl chocolate ice cream, it didn't swirl but blended into the whole body. The result was possibly the most chocolaty tasting ice cream I've ever had, though it had no Nutella flavor. Did something similar but with home made raspberry jam, excellent result.

Recipe but add in a container of Nutella.

Blue Bells Southern Blackberry Cobbler is probably my favorite of theirs. Tillamook has a killer Peaches and Cream too.
I think Blue Bell's quality has gone downhill. They've started using more "filler" ingredients, and the worst offender is definitely high-fructose corn syrup. It just doesn't taste as good as it used to.

Tillamook is genuinely one of the best ice creams you can buy. They consistently win awards and get high praise because they focus on using top-tier ingredients, and it really comes through in the taste. It's the kind of ice cream where you can tell they're not cutting corners.

I've been trying to find good ice cream ideas but every single one either uses a custard base, or some "no churn" knockoff that uses whipped cream and/or condensed milk. Is there anything like based.cooking but specifically for ice cream?

Pistachio. You could prolly make somethin decent with a pistachio pudding powder and a few of the actual nuts.
Pistachio. Always pistachio.
I should pick up pistachio next time I go out during the winter.
safeway grocery stores have a store brand (privacy select) pistachio and honey ice cream that's delicious.

tillamook is a an american company, and from what i understand, they're essentially a co-op of family-owned dairies. if you drive along the oregon coast, you'll pass properties with signs stating "proud tillamook dairy" or something similar.

also, their peanut butter chocolate ice cream scooped onto freshly-sliced bananas and topped with chopped, salted peanuts is probably my favorite ice cream dish of all time.

Is popsicle discussion welcome here? If so, I can't remember the last time I had these Cyclone popsicles, but in the few occasions I had them when I was a kid I absolutely loved them, but never saw them in the supermarket. I usually got them from those ice cream carts attached to bikes.
